Tomato & home-grown Basil Rigatoni pasta with chicken - so good

Better than the panchetta & cheese croquettes which were a bit of a disaster and didn't really taste of anything...

Some of the ingredients are stir fried, but it’s not a stir fry in the traditional sense… More a ramen with rice rather than noodles and no stock.

Nice! Can’t get anything like that here… very little pre prepared food or ‘fast food’ like that.

Bibimbap…. Rice with marinaded meat (in this case, beef sirloin, sliced in to thin strips), a gochujang based sauce, various vegetable toppings, and a fried egg.

A cornucopia of flavours and textures.

That looks great. Good veg prep as well. I find an extra 5 minutes prepping the veg helps when cooking these dishes.

Thanks smile

My knife skills have improved massively since I started taking cooking seriously a few years ago… and I’m a massive believer in mise en place!

No Idea of the manufacturer, name or broth. Instant noodles, broth filled beef balls, chilli oil and minced garlic.

Minute fillet steak subs with thinly sliced thick cut chips. I don’t like fat chips.

I’ll be on your making crisps thread dickym. Been playing with home made crisps for ages, I need to have a proper go.

Last nights stir fry… chicken, loads of veg, garlic/ginger/chilli, sauce of fermented black beans, soy, oyster sauce, mirin and a bit of sugar… plus the obligatory MSG

Friday night is steak night…

One of the steaks from the picana I bought a few weeks ago… salted over night then reverse seared and served with some roast veg.

Super juicy and tasty.

2nd beef roast if the day! Pub lunch with mates, £22 was steep, but came with refills for everything.

So why not have an other…

A seafood-leaning plate of salt and vinegar battered cod fish fingers, drizzled with a dill and tartare sauce, with softly poached organic eggs, dusted in Cornish sea salt and cracked black peppercorns..

Long weekend on my own as my wife and daughter are away. It's a chance for me to cook what I like (wife isn't keen on seafood) so I went into a local town where Friday means the fishmonger is at the market.

Friday - Garlic, butter and white wine prawns with some sourdough to mop up the juices

Saturday - Pan Fried Salmon, Leek and Broccoli in a(nother) white wine sauce with fish stock and capers

Sunday - Steak Frites with mates - reverse seared three huge steaks then shared out between us all
