Where to go for a burger in London
Discussion
How have I missed this thread?! I pride myself on knowing the burger situation in this fair city.
P&B is good but far too messy. Tommi's is pretty good too.
Two I haven't seen mentioned so far are Bleeker Street, which is very good and my current and long-time favourite in London, Burger Bear.
Byron is by far the most consistent and best of the chains IMO.

I was just about to say I can't believe that Bleecker Street hadn't been mentioned. So far everyone I've taken there has said it's the best burger they've ever had.
You can't eat in as they don't have a restaurant, but they serve from Spitalfield and Southbank permanently, and also have a van at the Gherkin every now and agin, along with street feast in dalston.
The bacond double cheeseburger is the thing of dreams.

Bit of thread resurrection, but based on recommendations in this thread, my friends and I went to Hache Burger (Camden) last week.
I tried Hache when I was down in London about a year ago, really enjoyed it. I had the Louisiana burger, which is essentially a cheeseburger topped with crunchy peanut butter, much to the disgust of everyone I've ever mentioned it too. I really enjoyed it...though not certain I'd make it a regular choice! The other burgers orders were all very well received too.Had my 1st Bleeker St burger on the Southbank today. They told me they served them rare and asked if that was ok but I said I'd like it medium. Unfortunately their idea of medium was my idea of rare. Their rare must be still breathing. Also the bacon was quite salty for my tastes. But it definitely had potential.
I'll give it one more chance, and next time will ask for well done and just get the double cheeseburger, forget the bacon.

I was at Meat Liquor about 18 months ago and thought it was st. The food was greasy average, drinks overpriced and the whole queuing both to enter and then to get a table was a pisstake.
I had a good burger with foie gras at Madison in One New Change a while back - my first twenty quid hamburger but definitely pretty decent.

A vote for Honest Burger here. Used to work two minutes' walk from their Liverpool Street location and now work a little further away. Went yesterday for lunch. Their Honest burger is a tenner and is almost always excellent (yesterday not great - bun a bit dry). Pleasant staff too. Even better with a pint of Camden Hells lager!
Have now tried Dip & Flip on the basis that one of my South African mates said it was very good. Although I did not go for their signature burger, I thought their green chilli cheese burger was very good. Nice staff here too (Wimbledon).
The only reason Byron burger stands out for me is because of their courgette fries.

- Token artisan/vintage/scratched enamelware available at all of the above!

Cheers for the updates. I'm still nowhere near decided although Hache is looking very promising...
And you can actually book a table! Edited by acd80 on Tuesday 14th April 15:16
(If you go to Hache, you must try the one with peanut butter and cheese - it's artery clog-tastic!)
