Fray Bentos Steak & Kidney maybe a guilty pleasure, Brains Faggots are a crime against humanity! Tried some 'home made' faggots at a pub lunch with a customer years ago and was blown away! Meaty, Savoury Goodness!
Bought some Brains Faggots to try during my next visit to Sainsburys! My God they're disgusting! Sloppy, tasteless mush! Straight in the bin! They should be sued under Trades Descriptions or something!
Not as good as they used to be. The gravy in with Brains faggots was bloody awesome and for many years I thought a top contender for my last death-row meal would have been; Brains faggots, mashed potato, marrowfat peas- one would have died happy.Bought some Brains Faggots to try during my next visit to Sainsburys! Was always more of a Pukka man myself, although now you can get a Pieminster Moo from Tesco, it appears the game has changed somewhat.
Oh, one of my local pubs sells those, I'll have to keep a look out in Tesco. I had a couple of Brockleby pies from a local food festival last year, and their "Moo and Blue" is really nice.Mobile Chicane said:

Nice! Keep the tin, it makes the best Yorkshire Puddings.MC funnily enough my mate in work asked me last week if I'd thrown the tin away as he uses them for Yorkies.
Ah, my thread has arrived!
Here's one from the other night - my "reduction aisle special" from yellow stickers ingredients assembled over time in the freezer, and now cooked into a hearty (if not especially healthy) feast:
money shot:
And the excess bacon was nicely used up the following night when mixed into a generous helping of pasta - no sauce, just a horse-sized amount of grated cheese and black pepper all melted and mixed whilst the fat on the bacon re-rendered into the gooey goodness and the bottom layer of pasta went slightly crispy. Completely unpretentious, very satisfying!
