Had people in the house all day yesterday fitting new windows to a house that apparently isn't straight any more, so after a trying day cooking was off the menu, so we went to the local Marston's pub for some grub.

Had the Ultimate Chicken Burger, which was like a KFC Tower burger with nicer ingredients. Wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised with how tasty it was.

I do love hula hoops, but prawn cocktail seems a bit much.

I did stir fried garlic prawns tonight. The addition of sprouts won't necessarily find favour with all but I like them.

This is actually last nights “dinner”; I went to Ikea to look at some desks, and took my motorbike as the traffic is horrendous. My excuse is I was very hungry and wanted to get back before it got much darker (and my wife had already eaten), which was lucky as on the way home another motorcyclist pointed out my headlight wasn’t working.

I seem to remember Ikea hotdogs being better than this, although that was quite a few years ago. My wife and I are on a mission to cut out/limit ultra high processed food at the moment, and I failed miserably.

I love sprouts… and I love prawns… but they aren’t necessarily flavours I would think of combining.

Did it work?

My wife sent me a recipe for a sprout curry, which worries me for all kinds of reasons.

I added piri piri so the whole thing was tasty. I did the same thing but with salmon last night and that worked too.

Shopping error left me with some pre diced chicken so decided to have a go at making some fried chicken on the new induction hob. Need to play around with it as the temperature rise was much more rapid than I’m used to so cooked very quick. Couldn’t finish it all so here are the abandoned left overs

Ras el hanout beef & roasted peppers with mint yoghurt & flatbreads. I make the flatbreads in a dry frying pan but find even in a medium heat & the extratcor on full blast they smoke the kitchen out. Any tips welcome.

Ground beef and asparagus, with a garlic, chilli bean, soy, mirin, rice wine and MSG sauce.

Found a local supplier for toban djan… has such a powerful spicy, salty flavour…. Does need balancing with a bit of sweetness though.
