Mcdonalds new ordering system
Discussion
I’ve just had a mcplant because they are cheap today. Is it just me or do they just taste like a crap cheap burger van burger from back in the day? Not sure I would want to eat that if I was a proper vegetarian or vegan but I guess a lot of the youngsters who this is aimed at are only really playing at being vegan etc

Is this a standard thing in Scottish McD's? I'm usually hunting out a haggis supper when I am up there but may have to call into McDonalds when I am next up there, just for the novelty of being able to have an Irn Bru.
As far as I know, yes, they all do it ... except mine craigjm said:

I've still not tried one, but you're not the first person to describe it as a burger van burger, and sometimes that sort of trash is the only thing that'll hit the spot, so I think I def need to give one a go soon. cuprabob said:

I've noticed a cheap burger van taste to the McPlant. I quite like them and I may have to investigate further if they're cheap today.
sainsburys often have the same/similar patty reduced of an evening shop - beyond meat - i quite like the patty too, not in a meat replacement way, in its own right - although the mcplant i find gross as the extras i find unpalatable - the vegan cheese and sauces.DaveTheRave87 said:

Looks like they're changing up their classic burgers.
Apparently they're going to use softer buns, grill at a higher temp for more of a sear and grill the burgers with onions.
I don't like onions, and don't want extra Big Mac sauce. As long as there's an option to have without, I'll still use McDonald's. If not, I'll find alternative food options. Apparently they're going to use softer buns, grill at a higher temp for more of a sear and grill the burgers with onions.
Could take a lot of custom away that kids bring as well? Do kids like onion? (I know I didn't when I was young, but have no kids of my own) .

I'm at the point of acceptance of crap service and just want them to add something to the rewards menu that I'd actually want, like selects or a double quarter pounder. Not a Big Mac or a salad.
Otherwise I just keep grabbing the bin guy I meet on my walk a latte now and again or a flat white for the missus. Noble of course and I'll go to heaven but please add something nice to the rewards menu!

Might be fewer delivery drivers clogging up the counters in London!

Illegal workers in the gig economy shocker https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/deliveroo-u...
It is an industry that needs to be much more regulated

If they regulated it more, it'd just be a job and everyone would realise the "gig economy" is a crock of st.
I do a bit of delivery on the side. Bicycle food delivery through Uber Eats. Very easy to get signed up, though they were quite thorough with requiring passport, NI and a CRB/DBS. Though I'm sure that anyone "dodgy" would know the various ways around such checksGassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
