A couple of breakfasts already this week:

The Full Monty Breakfast @ Beanzz in Eastbourne with thick cut baconium, herby local farm sourced sausages and probably hand grown mushrooms and tomato by a local virgin; £14.20 & coffee extra:

that fried egg looks done for!
No way! Fried egg whites should the same colour as the right side of the sausage in the pic imo. Known as "Phil's eggs" here, and with quite a few converts wink

How to order: "When they get to the colour you would normally throw them in the trash, plate them and bring them out..!"

CdG; that is indeed a “good start to the day”, just the right balance.

Eski; what’s wrong with fresh toms, so much better.

Jer; that is a serious affront to such a delicacy, that muck has no place on a crumpet.

Tinned tomatoes V fresh? Well Iv'e always preferred whole tinned tomatoes on a full English based on taste and texture and never bothered about any nutritional issues. As an avid Radio 4 listener in work this came on that shored up my view...................

Totally agree, plus, the juice is lovely to dip your bread in. When ordering a bacon and egg sarnie at the local sandwich shop, dipping the 'lid' in the plum tomatoes gives you the taste, and is less hazardous than a full plum tomato squirting out all over your shirt as you take your first bite! Egg yolk broken beforehand as well! With Age, comes Wisdom! in the important things!
