Saw a price list for the new London one posted on Reddit. Looks much closer to a normal pub than I expected. Many pints over £5.

Outside Euston. Captain Flinders

“There for opening night - What a privilege! Friend even came across from Bristol for the occasion. Rumour has it Captain Flinders grave is under the pub. Nicely finished to a good standard with USB sockets, lots of relevant paintings etc. Prices as to be expected at central london spoons. Perhaps a little too bright and too many chairs so not much standing room. Overall great experience”

Some people really beggar belief.

Everyone needs a hobby biggrin

I suspect Timmy Spoons has realised his brand is strong enough that the prices at some of the central London venues can be bumped up and still be the best value in the area - plus there's probably enough tourists looking for an unchallenging meal at any price so would search out a Wetherspoons.

(I believe the Sam Smiths pubs have also increased their London prices up to match the city average, when they were always 'cheap' traditionally).

'spoons have the small breakfast reduced to £2.99 until 20 Jan. One fried egg, a rasher of bacon, a sausage, a hash brown and beans. The beans were touching the egg but I guess that for £2.99, beans in a ramekin is wishful thinking.

Was very nice.

Met a colleague at one in Leeds yesterday.

2 main meals & Orange Juice / Coffee for £12.
I thought I'd done well until my Boss told me off for being cheap (it was on expenses)

For VFM, they're hard to beat really..

I had some pre-event pints in The Princess Louise, a Sam Smith's in Holburn, before Xmas & the pricing was comparable to usual West End - as expected all the beer was Sam Smiths (we had a mix of lager, IPA & stout).

O/T, but The Princess of Louise is worth a visit for the interior: "Built in 1872 other than perhaps the nearby Viaduct Tavern there isn’t a finer example of a living Victorian Gin Palace in central London." via https://www.londonpubexplorer.com/central-classics...

I used to work next door to that pub and I agree, really lovely inside. Can't remember it being massive busy either which was a welcome change.

For the last year my local spoons has been £1.99 for the small breakfast and £2.99 for the larger breakfast, although the latter has recently increased to £3.14. Hot drinks with free refills are 99p.

The other day I popped in and got a burger and chips with a glass of Pepsi Ma's for £4.71.

Parents have the sprog this Friday, not often me and the missus get out these days.

Would usually go out towards town for a bite to eat and a few drinks, but easily talking £100+ all in after transport.etc

Could do without it at the moment, so decided to meet in the middle and go to our local Spoons - I'm actually looking forward to it, always been impressed for the price.

Remember staying in Ruthin a few years ago, found a few local pubs that were very quiet, until I came across Wetherspoons, turns out everyone was there.

Where was that? The small brunch is one of my favourites and at the Wycombe branch during the afternoon costs £7.33 including a pint of ale which is £2.66 on its own, the hash brown is usually substituted for chips for some odd reason and the same meal would be about £5.85 with a soft drink.

According to the Spoons magazine the prices vary from location to location and for any one given area the drinks costs 43% less and the food 33% less than the competition which is about right for this area and still great value for money beer

Small breakfast, not brunch. Only available until noon.

Sad as it may sound but i have been to 49 different Wetherspoons so far (bit of a hobby) and the Newcastle Quayside Wetherspoons is not the best one i have been to as far as the interior is concerned but the view from the seating area outside is mint - Google Maps it (see outside) and have a look for yourself.
One day i might get to Ramsgate but it's a canny hike from here.

If you do Ramsgate, save it for the summer; the outside terrace is the best part; inside, it is just like many others.

Here are the rest while in the county

Come to London for the week. There are 80 Weatherspoons across the 32 London boroughs. Or if down for the day, 12 in Central London you could visit easily.

Carlisle would be an easy 'bag' for you - there are two in close proximity, Woodrow Wilson and William Rufus.

The food is decent in Woodrows, as are the prices bit it's a bit of a dingy spot and Carlisle in general is a bit depressing these days.
