Slots not tall enough to fit a slice of 'normal' bread, and not wide enough for fresh bread / pitta etc. Hopeless.TheInternet said:

That is the exact model I have (except in black) and recommended on page 1http://www.johnlewis.com/dualit-architect-4-slice-...
I guess all the people deriding spending £100 on a toaster drive a Dacia Sandero as it does exactly the same job as a BMW?

No, think of it as us driving a Skoda Octavia 2.0 T VRS, you driving an A3 2.0 T S-line - pretty similar in performance, but you paid more for some flash packaging to impress the chaps down at the golf club GCH said:

I'm pretty sure I could tell the difference between driving a BMW and a Dacia. I'm not so sure I'd be able to tell the difference between slices of toast cooked by a £20 toaster and a £100 one.Alex L said:
We have black too, for some reason couldn't link the exact colour. I bought my parents the traditional 4 slice about 10 years ago, it's still going strong but has required a new timer but according to my father, parts are easy to come by and replace.
Yeah we have the 'classic' dualit too elsewhere, and it is still going strong. Have had to replace the timer, but easy and cheap to do- IIRC it was about $20.For this one though we wanted the bagel setting

My neighbour has a £150 kettle but I'm pretty sure he leases it, so it's not actually his, it's just rented isn't it?
I always save up and pay cash for my kettles and toasters and buy premium brands, that way I know I'm better than my neighbours. Mine is the Dualit E39, it's had 8 owners but it's mint.
