You cant beat Hendrick's mixed with tonic, ice and a slice of lime, especially in the summer.

slice of cucumber
I think you'll find that's Pimms.

And it's not a slice of lime, it's a quarter and it should be run round the rim of the glass prior to serving.

Might have to try that. I like lime, rub it around the rim of the glass first smile
It's the way to serve Hendricks, although the first time I had Hendricks and it had the cucumber I couldn't work out why it tasted of cucumber (I hadn't noticed the cucumber actually was cucumber and had assumed it was lime).

It wasn't until somone pointed out the cucumber that it all clicked....

...Then it further clicked when I found out Hendricks is actually made with cucumber anyway...

Double D'oh!

ETA: mattley, Pimms maybe you're right, but Hendricks definitely is.

G&T - Is it a womans drink?

What a stoopid question. G&T is an archetypal gentleman's drink (in the Terry Thomas mould).

You'll be asking if pints are gay next.

Me too, tried it with cucumber but its not to my taste, I prefer a slice of lemon, I do like Hendricks though.

Aye, sorry, wasn't being a drink fascist ( I hate that nono smiley, it's really aggro).

Drink everything to your own taste, that's what I say.

Quite. If one has to ask, one clearly has no culture.

Gin and Tonic.

Desperately civilised. But one does need to make it a "manly" one (as a good friend says...). This is achieved by no less than a fifty/fifty mix of gin to tonic. Then add the ice and a slice.

I can attest that too many of those whilst cooking are not a good idea. hehe

agreed there Don, they can slip down a little too easily while working over a hot stove.

I do like a Gin, Lemonade and Lime on occasion, I sometimes find Tonic a little too bitter, again with the 60/40 gin bias. drink

sorry, I meant 70/30.

I like a gin and tonic on a summer's evening but I also like gin neat, from the freezer, but it has to be a good one if you're going to drink it like that.
