More to the point snow and rocks did you take it back? So many people eat cold fries and crap burgers or chicken in fast food places and don’t complain.
No, sadly not. I was starving and the place was rammed so couldn't be bothered with going back.

Will give it another go next time I'm passing.
This is what puts me off about McDonald's now - when it was about a fiver for a meal I'd put up with something substandard as it was cheap but it is not cheap anymore.
What is cheap these days?

It doesnt matter how much it is. If its not right / cold or anything else we should take things back, complain more etc. We dont because we cant be arsed / its only cheap / im busy etc etc just means nothing improves. If people threw KFC back at them en mass we might not have the ste we have today.

At these kind of places for me its fries that go back more often than not for being cold or limp or both. I can only recall taking a burger back once which was last year when I had a mcspicy and there was no bottom bun! hehe

This. Not even a kebab van is cheap these days.

Hence I tend to pay a few quid more for something slightly better these days. Five Guys used to be twice the price of Micky D's but now it's a scant fiver more and there's plenty of burger joints between McDonald's and Five Guys.

Wait till I let the starving children of Ethiopia know about this, they'll be furious that this is happening.
I've written to the Ukrainian citizens drafted to the front line of their war zone, hope to hear from them soon.

Big tasty is back .... some chicken thing with Franks red hot sauce, but more importantly the breakfast wrap is back, i might need to alternate between Greggs and Mcdonalds now.

What am I missing at Greggs, again there's not really one anywhere near me but every time I've tried it in the past I've thought it was crap. Not a patch on the local bakery.

I've taken stuff back at fast food chains before. Once took a Big Tasty back because it had so much sauce in it my face looked like the lens of a floor cam at a bukkake party. They gave me the money back.

I wish they would kill the big tasty I really don’t like the sauce

The chicken mcspicy is a good burger so this special adds chillis, cheese and onions and changes the sauce from mayo to chili mayo. Should be a good update but it’s fairly lazy as a special as anyone I know that eats mcspicy always adds cheese anyway so the could make that burger a create your own very easily

Not a lot, but the bacon is crispier than McDonald’s and with a coffee is £2.85.

I don't really get the Greggs success either. Everything I've tried there has been average at best, cetainly not enough of a come on to offset the pricing for me.

Greggs is awful but it’s cheap, widely available, convenient and fast. There are a lot of people out there who don’t care what they eat as long as they can shove it in their mouth fast

Much of Greggs baked product is wildly calorific compared to your expectations, too. A pasty and a pizza slice might seem like a fast, not that large meal. Yet it has more calories than a medium Big Mac meal with full fat coke (1100 versus 1000).

I wouldnt say greggs is any better or worse than other well known fast food chains. None of it is high quality food.

Given that McD's now want to make life difficult by, as it seems, requiriing you to use an app to avoid over paying, have put up their prices significantly, and in non motorway ones filled the inside with rude delivery drivers with no concept of how to behave, when im out and about and want a cup of tea, and maybe some food, these days i find myself at greggs more often than McD's

With the added benefit that i can order from a human, rather than an (often defective) order screen.

Doesnt look like greggs are moving to screen ordering. Though i might be wrong on that point. Hope im not though. I see it as a very significant point of difference.

Sometimes this site sounds like a right old folks home. I’m surprised any of you could consider going to eat in McDonald’s or anywhere as it sounds like you’re sitting in the folks home lounge with your zimmer frame and catheter bag.

Whether those at or above the average age of posters on this site, which I am convinced is about 60, like it or not app and kiosk ordering is the future and standing at a counter talking to a human with this stuff called money is about as modern as the ark.

hehe
It may well be, in which case thats a very sad state of affairs.

But, im aware my life will become more difficult as i dont install apps on my phone.

For as long as i can, i will take my business elsewhere where im treated as an actual customer.

I don't like apps either but is the price difference really that much?

I pay £7.50 ISH for a large McSpicy meal at the drive though. I can't imagine it's much cheaper using the app.

In either case, enstification (platform decay) will take care of any savings in time.

I'm aware of the business model, Craig hehe

My contention is what they're doing isn't sufficient irrespective of what they charge. They're wildly successful, so I'm clearly in a minority of me. But it appears we also have a deadly & worsening obesity problem in this country, so maybe we ought to be demanding more of ourselves as well as our food outlets. Anyway, back to the fatty treats.

The McDonald’s prices are no different on the app. You get an offer on a Monday for a cheaper item for that day usually and you sometimes get daily offers like 15% off etc. it’s Burger King that seem to do cheap food all the time for app users. The real benefit of the app for mcD is collecting points as you spend so you get free food over time. It’s really not that different to drive through or pay at the counter

Many McDonald’s now also have separate areas for the delivery guys so they are not crowding the restaurant as someone said above .

Personally I don’t think McD is expensive. Sure it’s not £5 a meal any more but nowhere is. When you compare it to KFC and Burger King I don’t think it’s excessive and it’s not in the league of cost for Five guys or honest / bleaker etc. I think relatively it’s still the cheaper option.

Loads of places do a meal for £5 - including a drink in many cases.
