I have moved away from lager generally as I think the IPA you can find in most London pubs now is so good that I don't have to go for mainstream lager.

However, at a push, Peroni, Camden Hells Lager, London Lager from Meantime.
Good lad! I brewed at Camden for two years when it first opened. I'm now at Meantime.

Glad you enjoy!/@

I tend to drink ale more than lager but on a hot summers day you can't beat :

It envokes memories of sitting on a Cretan beach with the family eating freshly made Spanakopita and sipping my ice cold Mythos in a frozen glass - so I can't guarantee the same impact for others smile

Give it a whirl though. 4x500ml for £6 in Tescos.

Ha, I'm working on it. It is probably my favourite of our range.

Brewdog Punk IPA.

Bethnal Pale Ale is pretty good too, Redchurch brewery I believe.

Edit - Oops Lager. Hmm usually pick up anything from The Kernel or Stone Brewing Co from Beermoth in Manchester.. Great stuff.

A good lager is made by a beer making company.

Hence Fullers K2 from the 1980's was an excellent lager. You could tell it was about taste rather than alcohol content, as you would expect from an English brewing company not normally associated with lager

You can even still buy it on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/K2-LAGER-FULLERS-440-ML-...

Empty, what ! Noooooo

If I remember rightly they sponsered a UK expedition one year to K2, hence the name. I used to drink it in Barnet North London, just opposite the football ground after a 250 mile trip to see my future wife for the weekend. Ice cold lager followed by red hot sex.

Sadly the K2 and the hot sex is now just an ancient memory.

Agree with that, perfectly OK but nothing remarkable - couldn't resist when I saw it in Tesco.

My usual choice for stocking the fridge at home would be Keo (Tescos), or Kona Big Wave/Longboard (lucky enough to have a very good wine/beer specialist nearby).

If I'm ever in the pub, it would have to be Kirin or Staropramen, although ended up drinking Zywiec for the first time in a few years on Friday after a few pints of Staropramen, all went down pretty well..

Give Lech a try, at 5.2% ABV its slightly weaker than Zywiec but its lovely stuff. Poland produces some fantastic beer and lager

'Cooking lager' as a fellow PH'er (known to go a bit loopy on Stella) refers to it!

I generally go for a Stella or a Becks on draught, or a Meantime Pilsner when in London.

I rather enjoy a really cold can of Oranjeboom when I can find it! Just had a cold bottle of Asahi too. Very nice indeed.

Some interesting suggestions here, must give them a try some time.

Perla in the green and white cans or with the green and white label on the bottle is my favourite Polish lager. There's a Lithuanian one with a blue can but I can't remember the name of it, also very nice.

Think we'll be advertising for another sales role soon if you are interested?
