I must admit I was a bit apprehensive at using a new curry house but was pleasantly surprised. And for £10.95 I got

2 popadoms
Small salad & chopped onions & mint sauce
Chicken Tikka
Chicken Vindaloo (large tray)
Mushroom bhaji (half tray)
Pilau rice
For 10.95?! I am impressed.

You know what is good. Instead of having a set meal and having the same thing every time, that £10.95 is any starter, any main dish, any side disk and any rice or bread.

Noticed you're in Kent. Where abouts is this place? Might have to pop by.

I am so jealous. Why don't most places do this?!

Tomorrow I'm going out for my first Ruby since around Xmas (diet frown), I've been reading this thread in anticipation and I can't bloody wait! bounce

Why do I get so excited about a few bits of chicken in an Indian gravy and some grains of rice? confused

Because it's a sensory overload. Salty, savoury, hot, sweet, textural, filling - and that's before you've had two pints of Cobra to wash it down.

Stop it, or i will go for one too.

I was always reluctant to order mushroom bhaji because I didn't understand how they'd make it work like an onion bhaji.

I shall die at 80, with two eighteen year old strippers rubbing my plums, and a nan bread dipped in lamb tikka vindaloo in one hand, and an ice cold Stella in the other.

Cotty, would you mind explaining what a mushroom bhaji entails? Looks lovely...

Just a mildly spicy mushroom curry whenever I've had it. If you like mushrooms and you like curry, you'll like it.
