Why?
Being hyper critical, pancakes a bit dark for my preference, see my pic a few pages back. Bacon looks fine. Plenty of maple syrup. I'll have to be more generous with the syrup in my plating up in future, splooshing it about like Gretchen has done means there is syrup sitting on the plate for dipping and not soaked into the pancakes like mine usually is. So that's good, just that genuine Grade A first tap light syrup is so flaming expensive so you don't fling it about willy nilly.
Only fair criticism I have, needs eggs, sunny side up.
Pancakes, bacon, eggs, coffee, multiple cups.
I’m with you - stack of 3 pancakes (put one to side) eat savoury (pancake/egg/bacon/sausage/hash brown) and once plate clear take the one from the side, whipped butter and lashings of no1. I think we should settle this one and for all. A cooked Full English breakfast comprises:
Core ingredients
Sausage - thick, pork, herbs/Cumberlandness allowable, leeks, apple etc not acceptable, nor are chiplolatas.
Bacon, smoked or unsmoked, must be back, streaky is not acceptable.
Tomatoes - grilled or griddled, large, halved. Tinned plum accepted as a substitute. Piccolo and other small tomatoes frowned upon.
Mushrooms - fresh, any colour or size, fried.
Eggs - minimum two, fried, sunny side up
Hash browns - a new entrant, but the Brown lad's earned his right to play in the first team
Brown sauce - HP for preference
Toast - white, no bits or hints of brownness, thick, buttered - no "spread"
Optional ingredients
Black Pudding
Fried Bread
Red sauce if you really must
Verboten
Beans can FRO. They aren't a native species and are for other purposes.
Eggs treated any other way than SSU. Wrong.
Pea ruddy shoots and any other decoration-based ephemera
Any bread-based product other than the aforementioned toast. Muffins, bagels et al have their place, but it's not here. Waffles I'm sure must have a purpose, but I'm hard-pressed to understand what it might be after the age of abour 4.
Glad to have been able to put the record straight. As you were

That's a difficult one, but as I say the new lad done well on his outings and deserves an extended run in the team, I think.
No way, he goes on the bench in case a first team member is missing. I realise he has popularity and youth on his side but he’s got no right to consider himself an essential part of the lineup.Bonefish Blues said:

However.
Beans are mandatory, as is Black Pudding. Sorry.
And from a speed of cooking point of view, I can tolerate a chipolata.

I personally would include BP, but I feel uncomfortable mandating it as I do appreciate there are those who don't like it, and I wouldn't want to stigmatise them as not following the true faith.However.

We may have to develop 2 variations of the FEB to include and exclude beans. Sort of a breakfast-based Good Friday Agreement, perhaps?
I do find it necessary to take a tough line on chipolata inclusion though.

Hash browns are not part of a classic full English. I'd have chips with my breakfast before hash browns.
Luddite! Breakfast must move with the ages. I thought the Brown lad's selection might be controversial Chips, fried eggs, beans, lots of bacon, couple of sausages (chipolata ok), potato scones, black pudding, toast, mushrooms and a pint of lager for me. Where did I put my frying pan
