For dinner tonight I popped into KFC and picked up the pretentiously titled "Boneless banquet", which is 3 chicken mini fillets, a small popcorn chicken, a side, and a drink. I fancied a couple of extra chicken fillets and worked out the cheapest way to do that was their Lunch Box from the street menu (two chicken strips and a large fries).

I didn't realise *quite* how large those large fries were though. eek

(I didn't eat them all. Didn't even eat half of them)

Right. So a couple of days and about £30 of ingredients later i made the Thai soup mentioned earlier in the thread.

Just had a bowl and my vision is just about back but not sure i can still feel my face. Think i'll dial down the chillis next time.

Also, how the hell are you supposed to eat noodles with one of them chinese spoons??

Anyway, gratuitous pics:

Excuse the strongbow, no time to put it in a glass to put the fire out...

Looks amazing. How did you like it?

I used a fork for the noodles ;-)

Aye, was really good. Forgot about the toasted sesame oil for the noodles but don't think that mattered too much.

I also reverted to a fork after covering the place with falling noodles.

Can i freeze the remaining stock?

First attempt at French trimming a chicken breast and throwing it in some pasta, cream, garlick and mushrooms.

Here's a chicken & ham pie, with thyme puff pastry top, roasted gnocchi and savoy cabbage.

Try using the spoon for the broth and chopsticks for the noodles.

Chopsticks would have been worse. The soup would have been stone cold by the time i'd finished.
