Looks pretty grim to me, sorry.
It almost looks like a pastiche of a high-end restaurant. Which, I guess, is sort of what a cruise ship is supposed to be?
It depends on the shíp and the particular restaurant of course. We're 'stress testing' venues prior to going back into service, so for me, it just means getting to try some different places for free. I've been quite impressed, overall.

There's a really broad range of restaurants on a ship as big as the one I am currently on, and as far as customers go, people pay anything from $1000 per week to $30,000, depending on the accommodation they choose. They have a choice of places to eat that reflects that.

We're very gunshy about adding stuff to corn over here.

The Mexicans are way ahead of the game, with stuff like this: https://damndelicious.net/2014/04/18/mexican-corn-...

Commonly called Elotes and sold as a street snack. Very nice but messy

What was wrong with the texture?

Looks good in the pictures!
Like I say, everyone else was happy but to me, it felt, smelt and tasted like slice of hot pedigree chum.

Rarely do I find something I cannot eat but thats up there, in fact I cannot think of anything I would struggle to eat again.

Oh well, recycling the dips and pickles with tonights curry.

I saw that on TV recently, any suggestions for a more easily found cheese? In fact, thinking about it the one I saw was mayonnaise, chilli powder and cheese.

I've had similar but without the chili. I shall try it. Cheers.

The best one I ever had was cooked on an upturned shopping trolley (masquerading as a BBQ), underneath a dripping elevated Subway line in Queens.

That recipe is not quite right. Every elote ive had in this country or in mexico uses mayonaise where that uses butter.

I brush the hot cobs with mayo using a pastry brush and then spinkle on the cheeese grated really fine and then some chilli powder (use a smoky one) and lime juice

I have only ever had roast donkey when out in China and to me it tastes like veal but with the texture of lamb and when its old it starts to have a bit of a game flavour

It was very nice, more beef than chicken but softer texture than beef. There is a donkey restaurant opposite where I live in Chongqing called the Happy Donkey
