No carbs.
Aldi Steak tomorrow night
Buy that Aldi wok and one each of all their vegetables. Stir fry and eat, much tastier than low fat cottage cheese and celery All the no carbs, no fat and so on are to be avoided.Aldi Steak tomorrow night
Get plate, fill half with veg, quarter with carb, quarter with protein. Add healthy fat if needed. Tasty and balanced.
And take up exercise, I burn up 900 calories on a run and then eat as I want

You’re preaching to the perverted. Ha. I’ve retired from exercise. Running is odd. Mountain biking is where I’m at. Get plate, fill half with veg, quarter with carb, quarter with protein. Add healthy fat if needed. Tasty and balanced.

The Cottage Cheese was a snack. I know exactly what I’m doing. I’m old enough to know better and wise enough to know we all die regardless of fitness and lifestyle.

Have any of the PH Aldi tribe tried their microwave fast food products? Cheeseburgers, rib burgers, breakfast muffins etc?
I've tried their breakfast muffin ( the sausage one, dunno if they do a bacon one in other stores?). 7/10 for me. Not as good as a Mickey D's double offering, but vastly superior compared to the Rustler's muffin.

Might have to give the whole range a go in some masochistic public service exercise.

We are really healthy in our house!

That's the one... 89p... I pick it up... I put it back down again on several visits. The packaging is almost facsimile Rustler (not that I've tried their product either)

My children buy them for an after school snack. I’ll ask them. Though this week local school children in uniform have been banned from Lidl until the end of term. Theiving little sods have stolen some biscuits or somesuch. Might have to give the whole range a go in some masochistic public service exercise.
Apparently there’s been a post on local Facebook group along the lines of ‘The shame. They could’ve at least got caught in Waitrose. Their Homous is far superior’.
It’s a very middle class market town.

My eyes always look up at the meatball micro wraps. I then always walk to the left of them slightly to pick up a chicken tikka slice instead.Might have to give the whole range a go in some masochistic public service exercise.

The guilty should be excluded, not the innocent. Can't tell the difference? Then I suggest that both the school and the supermarket can kindly go and fk off. Society does not work like that. If I were a pupil or parent, i'd fair be annoyed by the presumption/insinuation.
Yes, it's not 'nice', but I don't think it's illegal. If I was being robbed blind by school kids, but didn't know which ones, I'd be banning school kids too.
ETA: the manager won't have taken that decision lightly. It's not a nice message to send, and won't do his legitimate trade any good. The bds must have been pinching thousands in little bottles of booze.

So you approve of discrimination? because that's what it is, plain and simple.
I'd support the shop owner's right to decide who they allow into their shop, within the restrictions of the entirely correct existing protected minority legislation. If discriminating against school children means shoplifting losses go from thousands to hundreds, then I understand why they've done it.
It's not ALDI's job to take a stand against juvenile discrimination at great cost to themselves. They're just trying to make a living.
Other shops have the opportunity to welcome school children, and benefit from their trade (if it is a benefit, once the theft is written-off).
Anyone has the right to assume I'm a thief and treat me accordingly. I've the right to shop elsewhere. To have taken this step and face the bad PR the kids must have been stealing a huge amount.
There have always been shops with notices along the lines of ‘no more than six school children at one time’ locally. Until reading some of the above comments I can’t say I’d given it much thought.
I’ve heard that the reason Lidl have taken this decision is because when they were reporting the shoplifting to the Police the Police ‘didn’t want to know’ and weren’t taking any action.
The Manager has (and I have this on good authority) detained some children in his office and called said child’s parents in to the store. One particular incident was early morning before the start of school. Now, had this been one of my children, I’m not sure I’d be happy with them being locked in the Manager’s office because he’d taken matters in to his own hands due to Police lack of interest...
I know a few parents who are now avaoiding Lidl. Be interesting to see how profits are affected until end of term. Particularly with Easter/family time coming up.

This thread has been de-railed somewhat. Perhaps a new shoplifting thread could be posted for people to argue the toss about retail theft.
When I was a retail manager, shoplifting was a problem that had to be dealt with as the Police weren't interested. I think the manager getting the thieving childrens' parents in was a good call. What else could the manager do? let the children get away with it, and they'll keep stealing from the store.
