We're having the scampi this evening!
Was ok but nothing special, there was one that I thought stil had it's base claws partly attached that stirred my interest, - perhaps that's my old oven and Aunt Bessie's frozen chips with Bird's eye frozen peas that hasn't given it a more flattering review.V8mate said:
Well... I just had their breakfast muffin.
I've certainly come over with a strange desire for somewhat overweight women in unfeasibly thin and tight leggings as a result of consuming it, but... it wasn't too bad.
Microwaving the bread is always going to leave it in Maccy D's wake - fortunately I turned it upside down as soon as it came out of the microwave, which dryed the 'soggy bottom' quite promptly.
A cheap but tasty emergency brekkie, IMHO.
Should have said before, toast the buns lightly instead of microwaving.I've certainly come over with a strange desire for somewhat overweight women in unfeasibly thin and tight leggings as a result of consuming it, but... it wasn't too bad.

I've mentioned before how much I dislike 'factory' bread, but will readily eat Aldi's large white and malted bloomers.
The malted bloomer especially, is good for sarnies but *great* for toast!
A few week's ago they added a honey seeded loaf to the range (which has an horrendous calorie count per slice!) and today a tiger bloomer, full of the olfactory joys of sesame.
Two slices of which are about to receive egg and bacon therein between

I had 2 Guinness and leek sausages for breakfast this morning, except I only ate one. Far too strong a taste for a breakfast sausage, and I didn't enjoy it. Wondering what to do with the others, will probably remove from their skins and add some beef mince to make a cottage pie.
I saw they had Guinness beefburgers for the St Guinness Day too. Weird.
I don't look in the freezers as often as perhaps I should, so I don't know whether these are a recent addition to Aldi's range or not, but I gace these a try last night and they were delicious.
A reassuring level of fat kicked out during grilling, but leaving a good, thick, coarse burger once done. Cooked straight from frozen and were spot on. And very tasty!
I'd go so far as to say that I thought they tasted better than the packs of two, fresh, SS Aberdeen Angus burgers.

I think they're new, I grabbed a pack the other day and I hadn't seen them before. Glad to hear positive feedback, these will be a good Monday dinner.A reassuring level of fat kicked out during grilling, but leaving a good, thick, coarse burger once done. I find the SS Angus Burgers ok, but they’ve seem to have a high fat content judging by the amount that leeches into the pan whilst cooking...
I see that as a good thing - as long as the cooked product doesn't end up a shrivelled shadow of its uncooked self, that fat, rendering during the cooking process will leave the meat tasty and succulent.Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
