If anyone knows how to host/post a screengrab of an excel sheet without it looking like it’s from an Amstrad can you let me know and I’ll email you a nice crisp image please?

hehe

Hi everyone, thanks to all for the offers of cash but we need to wait until I get the revised invoice from WB with the consignment fees and shipping costs. I sent the matrix of who needs what sent where (or not as the case may be did those who are collecting) to them yesterday morning so am waiting on the new invoice. Then we’ll know exactly how much everybody owes and I’ll send you my bank details individually.

Cheers

In other news, for the owners of the Ben Nevis casks I requested 50ml samples of those octaves and they’ve sent 50cl samples instead! I’ll add the cost of the duty free samples to the Spreadsheet for those octaves and when I can get enough little sample bottles I’ll send you 50ml samples to each cask owner

I haven’t tried it yet but I suspect it will be very spirity still!

Cheers

Email from WB this afternoon:

Hi Iain

We would charge a £15.00 bottle picking fee for each recipient plus £5.00 distribution charge per case both subject to VAT. There would then be the shipping charges to add which we would have to work out once you decide you want to go ahead with shipping like this.

I said yes! Hopefully get the new invoice tomorrow

Cheers

No invoice yet I’m afraid - good to see the consignment fees are modest though. It’s just the shipping they need to calculate.

After much prompting I was promised on Tuesday they’d be doing it on Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday but no sign yet...

Email from WB at lunchtime today with packing lists - couple of errors on sc100 but they will correct those asap.

WB need contact details (email and phone) for their courier, i have email addresses for most of you but can you all please confirm mobile numbers. I'll contact everone directly too.

Still no invoice though - i guess they have to actually book the courier to confirm the prices. banghead

Right, WB have also said that they will not split the bottles into smaller bottles or miniatures like they did last time.

There are 18 full bottles remaining and 17 owners so are you all happy if i just distribute them one each? Pro-rata would be fairer but they are understandably not keen on messing around with fractions of shares and fractions of bottles.

Any thoughts on the selling on of shares that some members no longer wanted? Or do we need to wait for the billing and distribution to complete first?
So far, nobody has actually confirmed they want to sell, if they do then first refusal goes to current cask owners and then if nobody wants them then by all means i'll open it up to other ph'ers.

Cheers

Some progress...

Got confirmed phone/email contacts for all but one member and I’ve just put my own details down for him.

Once I get the final invoice - hopefully by end of week I guess - I’ll update the who-owes-what and give you all my bank details.

Cheers

At least there is some progress, but I'm slightly confuse by their need to get shipping quotes/updates when it is on their website - 1 to 6 bottles for £9.13 (UK only Obvs!)

https://www.whiskybroker.co.uk/delivery

Unless they are doing a 'better deal'? Hopefully it doesn't affect me but the longer it goes on, the more likely I'm going to need shipping - but if this is the case, I'll liaise directly.
Indeed but most people have >6 bottles.

Their price quoted there is very good, i just shipped 6 bottles of something else to a mate for £24 plus £12 insurance! Finding couriers to take whisky is difficult - and expensive.

So it's just multiples of £9.13 for 6/12/18/24/30 bottles etc?
I don't know, i get the impression that she is getting quotes. That brings up a question actually - if insurance is offered, does everyone want it?

Invoice is in!

I’ve worked out everyone’s share and have emailed the spreadsheet to Craig who will hopefully kindly host and post it

Thanks Phil,

I have emailed everyone with the list of who owes what and my bank details.

If anyone hasn't received it please let me know asap!!

The bottle picking fees and consignment fees are quite expensive: £360+vat. It's a lot of admin work for WB to organise into multiple packages.

Overall it still works out <£20/bottle (excl the cask purchase fee) so it's not bad value though.

Cheers to all - hope you enjoy!

Thanks a lot Craig.

Email was sent bcc to everyone - might be worth checking your junk (heh heh) in case it ended up in there since it's on a distribution list.
