You said 'expresso' three times in one post, you're not allowed an opinion for a week
Whoops, Whoops and Whoops. Too much espresso I think.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-europe-6806592...
I had a chat with someone who tasted coffee for a living. His preference was Planet Java 'Roastalino'. I bought a few bags and I'm really impressed! Also, the dates/flavours written on the labels are hand written, as neither writing is exactly the same on each bag. Has anyone else tried this coffee? What were your thoughts?
I spotted a new addition in Waitrose called Grind. It's hard to miss; the packaging is pink. It has printed roast dates etc. It's pretty good! I still prefer Planet Java though!

Rather like Moët, Expresso can be minefield of bluff and counterbluff.
Anyway. Vertuo and expensive B2C machine at home. Once into the daily groove, I love the B2C. But so often fall back into days of self-abuse with the pods.
Currently in an Airbnb with a Dolce Gusto. Ewwwwwww. So switched to some local ground in a cafeteria - still not really liking it. Same with the ridiculously complicated "pour over" I had in Boston last year. Some sort of robot pouring thing. Maybe my coffee taste buds are ruined by Espresso.
The answer. Instant "includes ground" from Tesco. Am I dirty?

I have a nespresso vertuo machine, and love the coffee, but the pods arent cheap, anyone tried those reusable pods, and any recomendations?
I actually got this set up through the Amazon Vine program (so for free ) The foils are pretty generic and I did try and an emptied vertuo pod, however the larger re-usable pod that came with the set works well. Only reason I've not used it that much since is it came up just after I placed a big order with Nespresso for more pods.richhead said:

Been useing these for a few month's now. Works very well.https://www.amazon.co.uk/Reusable-Compatible-Nespr...
Peel the foil of your used Vertuo pods and away you go.
Means i can enjoy my current favourite Lavazzo.

Did the machine come with any pressurised baskets? Will be needing them to get anything half decent from pre ground coffee
Pretty sure it did. Read a review where the blogger was talking about swapping baskets not being a straightforward swap due to them being pressurised DrEMa said:

I have to admit , espresso at home has stopped me drinking coffee away completely.
I just know it will be a bitter and shallow disappointment, so I generally don’t bother at all now.
Me too, we buy this from what used to be our local Italian restaurant, but is now 200 miles away! Still, needs must.I just know it will be a bitter and shallow disappointment, so I generally don’t bother at all now.

I fear this is happening to me. I’m now way more critical of coffees out and the list of places I go to is shortening rapidly. I really look forward to making my own morning coffee and if I was served it at a coffee shop, I’d even consider my latte art acceptable. The only place I’ll buy a coffee from if I’m out is an independent cafe where there’s at least a chance it will be ok. If I have to queue to order I watch how they are being made and often change my mind and get a tea or just walk away. I don’t want a £3 cup of scalding hot disappointment.
I went to an independent coffee place last week on the strand. Flat white with almond milk. Guess. How much they wanted...Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
