because they can afford it.

personally £80-100 for two inc. drinks is pushing it for me in a restaurant with my current earnings. when i have the money i will be trying out as many michelin starred restaurants as i can.

i love food. i am a good cook, but a michelin starred chef with a full team of staff is quite a bit better.

its like with cars. why have a ferrari when a maestro will do. because the ferrari is an experience and an occasion.

What a great show - The guy is a genius - I am in Awe.....

PS - for the people that missed it - it is repeated on Sunday night 7pm Ch4

Anyone tried his recipies? I have done a few.. very tasty

My next is to reproduce the starter he made on the show -

Does anynoe know the name of that test tube type thing? I have been googling for ages but I can't find it... Thanks.

Why does anybody spend £130 a head - never mind extortionate wine price's - on one meal?
I was lucky enough to get taken there for my 30th birthday in January and all I can say is that it is amazing. You get 19 courses of taste sensations.

One thing I tell people is that every time I talk about each course I can taste it as if it was still in my mouth. How many meals can you say that about? I have been to a few other Michelin star places before but there is nothing like the Fat Duck.

But yes it is (still) a lot of money.... but worth doing once...

Now I plan to recreate them all..........

Yes, the glass tube - Ah - Did they say that on the show or do you know that? I may have to use a liebig condenser...... or just a test tube with a thin straw in the middle....

When is the next episode on then? I believe its a medieval feast this time, looks pretty stacka-de-meat which I like.

I finally got round to watching this last night (Sky+'d) and I thought it was great entertainment. No I probably would not be overly keen on some of his creations but you have to admit the ingenuity, skill and determination to produce the best he can is fantastic. Heston comes across as a nice (and somewhat funny) chap as well.

Top marks say I and I am looking forward to the next program.

Enjoyed the programme. Amazing cook.

Had to laugh tho when the woman looked dubiously at one of his creations and said "hope we don't get food poisoning."

Did anyone else fancy a bit of the atomic kitten bird on last night's episode?
