I had some of Aldi's frozen whitebait this evening (£1.99 and probably serves 3/4)
Thought it was very good, although larger than restaurant standard whitebait. I'll certainly buy again
We’ve had this tonight too, along with the Calamari (which I prefer) and some Creme Fraiche. All Aldi acquired and served several as a starter Thought it was very good, although larger than restaurant standard whitebait. I'll certainly buy again
Just forgot to pick up a Lemon. Lemon.

Had the garlic pizza bread from the chilled but with dinner last night, delicious!
The thin ones? 4 in a pack? They’re epic! Not much to shout about in mine today, ribeye for tomorrow and some of the cheddar burgers but that’s about itGretchen said:

I am gradually being won over by Aldi. G/F shops there a fair bit - mostly because she likes to stock up on cheap prosecco - and a few weeks ago we bought a cheap bottle of red wine (Rockstone Ridge merlot). I expected it to taste like vinegar, but it was absolutely lovely - really fruity and very nice to drink.
One of the nicest bottles of red I've had in a while in fact, and decided a week or so back to get another bottle. While I was there, I also picked up a smoky bbq beef pizza, and some fresh baked (but sliced) white bread.
Both were excellent - the pizza was gorgeous and I will definitely buy one of those again (unlike the Carlos pizza my g/f had the other day which looked utterly disgusting). And the bread was proper thickly sliced bread - perfect for toast in the morning, and something I've never managed to find at other supermarkets.

The hallowed Black Packaging of Dreams!
You're flying Lear in the stratosphere while I'm crop-dusting in a tin can.
If you screw up, just this much, you'll be flying a cargo plane full of rubber dog st out of Hong Kong! You're flying Lear in the stratosphere while I'm crop-dusting in a tin can.
...Cheers for the heads up on the Blackbox of specially selected delight. We STILL haven't got the 'Enta Pizza' in our local Aldi yet, so I'm taking a trip to the next town for a look.

Lidl has 1.2 KG bags of espresso coffee beans for £8 - bought two
A known brand? We have a bean to cup at work on the understanding we provide our own beans and they're a bit meh, but they're cheap.
We actually find ourselves buying full trays of the Aldi 3/4 roast beans as for the money they're great.
