I (well my local mate) found a bar has pints for $5 in Chinatown we went to on Thursday evening - for Singapore that is a steal!
And the local Hawker Centre to him has large bottles of beer for $6.40 - that is cheaper than the supermarket, so the beer selling guy knows me well this week! There is some proper artery blocking stuff sold there, but I'm trying to avoid that.....
Details please old chap. I tend to stay in the holiday inn next to Clarke’s quay, so Chinatown is a short trundle away. Brewerkz is a bit steep when you want more than one.
Anyone else noticed a lot of places on JE have started to charge at least £2 for delivery?
My local place used to be free, its 300 yards. A pizza and fries is £10 but with 50p processing and £2 delivery 25% of the cost is now fees.
I appreciate it if they are coming some distance but to put it from £0 to £2 in the space of a few months seems OTT...
I had a look round at a few other places on my JE list and they are also all £2.

If your local is 300yds then I'd be calling for collection or delivery - JE takes a big chunk of their price as a commission, you'd probably get a better deal direct. When I am in the UK I use JE to figure out the menu and then Google them and order direct. My local place used to be free, its 300 yards. This is good advice. My local is very grateful when I phone in an order and throw in extras (not asked).Better still if I walk down and order over the counter you get a discount and some extras and a half pint for free...

If it's no skin off your nose, please cut JE out of the loop where you can.
They're massively expensive for the vendors, and becoming a bit of an exploitative monopoly which will serve nobody's interests in the long run.

It's pretty st when you have your own customer of many years that you've worked hard to keep happy to start using JE and end up losing close to 20% of the order and not forgetting that it takes 2 weeks to even get the money in your account.
This whole dont use JE if you can help it thing, I completely get that, and hate to see people paying fees, so tried to cut them out of the deal a couple of times.
My local Indian collection place (also a restaurant), I'd ordered from JE before, but thought I would go direct this time, called and ordered, arrived to collect it, got my bank card out to pay, and they got all huffy, saying if i wanted to use a card to pay i should have ordered through just eat, and next time they wont allow me to pay by card. Cash only, or just eat for card. Now this is a restaurant, with proper card machines etc, all very confusing.
Then the local pizza place, ONLY takes orders from just eat, you cant order direct even if you wanted to, cash or card, collection or delivery.

I guess they'd rather pay JE than the taxman Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
