Beer braised pig ribs on spiced cabbage.
Recipes, please! Two racks of pork ribs, cut into separate ribs. Put them in a large roasting tray. Grate two cooking apples, two onions, four cloves of garlic in. Add two table spoons of worcestershire sauce, one table spoon of English mustard, one tea spoon of chilli flakes, salt, white pepper, bottle of dark ale and 200g of honey. Mix in the tray and cover for as long as possible.
Spiced Cabbage
One large cabbage cut finely covered in two table spoons of salt and left to rest for half an hour. Then wash and drain out the liquid, Add one green one red chilli chopped, one thin sliced onion, soft dark sugar, salt, pepper, bunch of coriander and a bunch of mint. Finally add some pickling liquor. The picking liquor I used was red wine vinegar with cloves, pepper corns and mustard seeds in. I already had this in though.
Cook the ribs for 3 hours with the tray covered in foil, I took the foil off for the last 30 mins to make the sauce go dark brown and sticky.
Serve the ribs on top of the cold spiced cabbage.
Enjoy and don’t forget the wet wipes..... they are messy!

Had a go at one of those today, although I opted for some homemade chips to go with mine. Did you leave the pepper in it? I chopped it up and mixed it in. Dread to think how I will be at work tomorrow haStuck some birds eye steam bag rice with it,it looks angry, prob belongs on DTA thread
Lobster and chips again. Found a new fishmonger in Brixton who does native ones live for a tenner. Par boil in salty water for 5 mins then alllow to cool then split in half, remove brain and other squidgy stuff and I then remove meat from the claws and then place it back in to the shell where the brains and stuff was. Mash up few garlic cloves in a mortar and pestle then spread over the lobster, cover with butter, sprinkle some hot and sweet smoked paprika over the top and under the grill while basting with the butter until golden.
Heaven and cheaper than a stty takeaway.

Where in Brixton do you get them for £10, Im 10 mins away and would happily walk down to pick one up.
The fishmonger next door to Franco Manco pizza in Market Row not far from overground station. Picked up a decent size live crab and lobster above for £15 today. Moxons at Clapham South normally charge £16-18 and the nearest one to me on Northcote Rd are about £14+.
Worth exploring Market Row and Brixton Village as some nice restaurants, went to one for lunch today called Elephant serving traditional Pakistani food was excellent.
Also a nice a craft beer bar just around the corner.

I think it would be easier to hire a car and do a red eye run to billingsgate market and get ti even cheaper and get some decent prawns too.

It's called Jeffries next door to Franco Manca. Never been to Billingsgate but after watching that BBC2 series I am tempted on an early rise one day.
Been twice and the spoils looked like this:£5 for crab
£6 a kg for small prawns
£8 a kg for large prawns
All fantastic and would go again.
(excuse small pics they originals are 4mb in size so had to shrink them, but click on them for larger pics)

Spoils being the operative word! Buy better prawns next time - the blackening is spoiling - get there earlier and get the better prawns! £5 for crab

£8 a kg for large prawns
