noodles in a pot
Discussion
i also have the sweet chilli and chicken ones to try but im not holding out much hope.
the kabuto chilli chicken ramen ones are better much fresher flavour and as the noodles are finer you seem to get alot more.
i need to get back to a major city so i can get some decent ones with writing i dont understand as i like the surprise of not knowing what im getting

This was a twist on "Noodles in a Pot" as these include 'Rice Cakes'! Now the name may conjure up visions of a crispy snack made of rice crispies and the like but they are far from it. During my first stay in S.Korea doing my 3 months indoctrination workplace training we were wondering round the street markets looking for something to eat (in the hope of finding something a bit less like oriental food) and this old lady was stirring a massive pot of what looked like sausage casserole. Was a bit of a shock when the 'sausages' turned out to be chewy fairly bland non meat flump like things.
Anyhow here's the contents...........
I followed the instructions to the letter which was cold water up to the line and 3.5 minutes in the microwave (luckily we have one in work as I refuse to have a microwave at home)......
Pleasantly surprised after chewing through a couple of the rice cakes. Good noodles and a lovely spicy tomato broth - will buy again but will use twice the water for the broth and I'm sure boiling water will work as opposed to a microwave 8 out of 10
Edit: and add a big dollop of Kimchi

I blame Trustmeimadoctor for this
In Watford we have a couple of small oriental supermarkets, the newer one does have a range of (not cheap alas) tteokbokki pots - these three cost me £9.70. There was also a tomato Yopokki one in a pink pot called the "Pink Rocket for the lovely girls" which I resisted.

I've not read the whole thread for the obvious reasons, but how are 'Cup Noodle' Soba rated on here alongside the quite frankly terrifying range that is available via the internet? I 'found' them in Sainsburys a year or so ago and £1.70 for the 'big' one seems the going price. Are the ones double that worth trying?
I do like the Hot ones. And the Yakitori.
compared to the good types out there they are a bit crap but they are a staple and you know what your gettingI do like the Hot ones. And the Yakitori.
