Where to go for a burger in London

...Cau does a good burger, but when you see the steaks you might get distracted. Trust me, the burger is worth it...
I keep hearing this, but I think I'd have trouble ordering it over their rare ribeye with pepper sauce. Can't say I share the hate for GBK. Hardly life changing, but decent enough

You either bribed the serving staff, were in the wrong restaurant, or are GBK's PR man.
I've never seen a generous portion there.
GBK, small portions, not great food and average burgers.I've never seen a generous portion there.
The thing is, if you don't have many decent burgers then GBK would seem amazing, but as mentioned it is just the Middle-class Maccie D's, in fact after the last effort i had from GBK Windsor i would take a Maccie D's over it everytime. At least they are cheap and ste, not just ste.

We went just for the burger after my burger buddy saw an online article that it was in the top 10 Chain Restaurant Burgers in the UK. I reckon that would be a fair assessment as well. When i go to G'ford for lunch i'll have the burger from there, but next time i do evening eating i have my eye set on one of their fillet steaks. Mmmm. Can't say I share the hate for GBK. Meat Liquor hands down!
Better burger than Red Dog (not so sure on the wings though). There is a place in James Street at the bottom of Marylebone High Street called Patty & Bun, apparently even better than Meat Liquor
Sorry if this is a hijack, but have you had the wings from the wings challenge at Red Dog? I tried them last week - OMG! Never ever ever again! I swear, one bite and I was feeling ill for an hour. I got hit with a second wind around 45 mins afterwards where it felt like I was having a heart attach. I was told this was my stomach reacting... BTW Zetec, where did you take the family in the end?
Joe Allens in Covent Garden. Burgers aren't on the menu, but ask and you shall receive. Ditto ice cream and hot fudge sauce.
Byron - foul muck. You can taste the pork fat in what they pass off as their (overcooked to buggery) beefburger.

I've done it and got the t-shirt to prove it! It is hot, second only to "the world's most dangerous curry" at The Star of India, La Paz. Thought I had thoroughly washed my hands - rubbed my eye an hour after and was burning all afternoon! Not for the faint hearted. Also give Mishkins a try, just around corner from Covent garden.
Good cocktails too..

Just saw this, yeah did the wings, 2 minutes 4 seconds not quick enough for the leader board or anything like that, but a good effort i think. It reduced a few people on other tables to tears though! The thing is though, they are not a nice hot...the flavour is completely ruined...so it is in essence just a silly challenge. Friend did the devastator challenge in 6 minutes something so he is number 5 on the leader board...i have tried it, and didn't even make a dent in 10 minutes, didn't even finish it to be fair.
