I've been to Ego in Kenilworth, but only on steak night, my girlfriend liked it, so will have to go back and try to pizza too!
A proper Neapolitan place opened a few miles down the road from me back in December 2012. Been there quite a few times since they opened but sadly the service has been shocking recently which is why I've not indulged in my pizza habit for a while.
Side note, gelato is the best dessert after consuming a few pizzas. Lost count of the amount of times I have had a pizza at Franco Manca in Brixton and then headed down to South Kensington to grab some Gelato from Oddono's and perv over the cars in HR Owen.

I spend half my time in the US for work, and finding good pizza is hard work.
Either it is dull pizza, some cheese and pepperoni swimming in oil, or the other extreme of just daft stuff because they can. Example being tonight, Cauliflower. WTF? Seriously????
There is some mental stuff on pizza over here. We're lucky to have a few good ones locally.Either it is dull pizza, some cheese and pepperoni swimming in oil, or the other extreme of just daft stuff because they can. Example being tonight, Cauliflower. WTF? Seriously????
My in laws delight in telling me how weird they thought pizza in the UK was because there was one with corn on. They spat feathers when I pointed out American pizza was largely garbage and dominos and papa johns have been putting corn on pizzas here for at least 10 years.
On the menu last night - also, chopped caeser salad on a pizza????
I stuck with pulled pork sliders to go with my beer....

So... any recommended pizza dough recipes? I know it's just dough but one that's tried and tested.
OOOooo, complex subject this - the recipe is only a small part of it, heating methods, temps etc all combine to make a lovely dough.I make mine from scratch every week and have been doing it for the last 15 years but.......
I can make the same dough (150 grams high grade flour, yeast, salt) and it can still turn out differently each time.
My most successful method is to heat the oven over a long period - about an hour - don't go thinking it's hot just because the thermostat has clicked, I put a fine mesh grill plate on the floor of the oven (low down heat crisps up the base without cremating the toppings) then put the pizza in on baking paper to help it onto the shelf, cook for 1 or 2 minutes then whip the paper out and leave the pizza for about 10 more minutes (check the base by lifting it).
You should end up with a crunchy chewy base and nicely cooked toppings.
Edited to add rubbish pics of tasty pizza:
