Did these on mine on Monday night. Chicken thighs with A&O Korean rub and Baby Panang sauce glaze served with an Asian style noodle salad. Ran it at about 220c to roast (deflector in) till cooked then a five minute glaze with sauce at the end. Dead easy to control the temps, you need to restrict the airflow before it gets to your desired temp, once it gets there it just holds solid. I did a couple of empty burns to break it in and get the feel of it

Lamb chumps Wednesday night seasoned with SPG and some rosemary. Put a few sprigs of woody rosemary onto the coals then cooked at about 210c indirect until rare then took the deflector out to give them a sear and bring up to medium. While they rested I cranked up the heat a bit and threw some padron peppers and corn on the grill.
Spicy potato salad on the side.

looks amazing

Still no word on mine being delivered....

Which facebook group is it so I can have a nosey please?

Also, quite like the idea of this wireless thermometer. Any recommendations?

Mine turned up yesterday.

Badly packaged, so the legs that need assembling have chipped the ceramic all the way around the edge of the lid. Called Aldi for a replacement and collection but they have sold out. So looks like I'm not getting one of these after all which is pretty annoying.

Anyone got any recommendations for a cheap alternative?

As if by magic. Arrived 10 minutes ago.

Not built it yet but unpackaged and looks like I've been lucky and seems in good condition so far. Not properly inspected yet but no obvious cracks etc.

Such ashame so see so many not being so lucky with delivery

Mine came last week and was in perfect condition.
Used it on Saturday and results were good but I think I need to use it a bit more and my heat regulation wasn't good.

How did you orientate the inner ceramic bowl? The hole facing the outer vent or way from it.

The hole in the fire bowl must line up with the vent hole. You get the ash out that way without having to remove the fire bowl.

It's a bit more expensive but I got the Wild Goose - https://www.greenhousepeople.co.uk/products/6942/1...

It's basically a Kamado Joe rebadged so you can use all the Joe accessories.

Another option would be the Louisiana from Costco - https://www.costco.co.uk/Garden-Sheds-Patio/Barbec...

That's a beast at 24"

I
Nice - not seen a smooth one before, usually all dimpled. Good price tho.

I quite fancy one of these, I've got a bit of a fantasy of building an outdoor kitchen with a nice brick platform for a standalone Egg/Kamado to sit in between the worksurface.

But I think I've got enough BBQs for the time being with my four coal powered ones at present that all get plenty of use through the summer (Weber kettle, Weber Smokey Mountain, small camping, large camping).

I bought an Aldi Kamado, and I enjoying cooking on it, I've done smoked ribs pork butt, grilled chicken seared steaks I'm able to control the temperature no problem, for low & slow cooking at 225f for a good 11hours the fuel efficiency is brilliant I've always got charcoal left when I've closed off the vents I'd recommend the Aldi kamado to anyone who loves to bbq.

Looks like I was too late for one of the big bbqs, anyone have an idea if it will be repeated or who the original supplier was?

This is the same one:

https://www.jtf.com/la-hacienda-ceramic-egg-kamado...

Morrisons are selling the large one in selected stores only at the moment, they won't have many though and it's collection only. I have emailed them to ask for a list of participating stores, just waiting for a response. Their contact number is 0345 611 6111.should you want to give them a call.
