AFAIK, only the beef/pork balls come with broth inside, available in Asian supermarkets. There are other options, sans broth mushroom, fish, chicken etc.

Cooking; they come frozen, heat in a pan of tap water until it starts to simmer, (noodles that require cooking) starts to boil (cup noodles).

Cheers, I'll have a look for those - there's so many things that I look at but then haven't got a clue what to actually do with them biglaugh

Just seen your photo on the 'Dinner' thread and looks lush. The noodles and broth are these I think............

What were the meatballs like and was there broth inside? I'm guessing you added something that turned the noodle broth red?

Excellent looking dish clap

Yes, the broth is inside. The initial feel is like a rubbery ball, but as you bite in the broth is released giving the ball a complex flavour/texture.

Note; eat the ball whole to avoid greasy chinage. Don’t overcook.

Yes chilli oil, see pic below.

I find a nice addition is minced garlic (see above) added after cooking.

One I found at the back of the cupboard - Noodles (vac packed Udon) were 2 years out of date so swapped them out for a fresh pack) and tried them.......

Yeh I know i'm not normally like that - if they were 'dry' noodles it wouldn't bother me but 'wet' vacuum packed stuff put me off.

Have we had these posted yet? Found them in Waitrose today (yeah yeah!) and thought they looked interesting! Will try tomorrow.

I've only recently had Itsu stuff and am pleasantly surprised with them although they all need to be spiced up a bit. I'm not a fan of glass noodles but let us know what those are like.

Well these arrived as part of an order from Starry Mart yesterday - nothing in the order was from the Black Friday sale, but more brought on by replacing four different 5 packs of Nissin Raoh 30th anniversary noodles (really good) which I thought were limited edition and sold out.

Also tried this yesterday, partly off the back here of the praise for Itsu (though I was never that impressed when I used to eat at their Canary Wharf place back in ~2003).

It wasn't bad, but then it also was not particularly good and I felt that the whole 'we use a paste not powder' bit actually hampered things as it was too strong taste wise (far too strong) and also there was too much for the pot. For 'dry' pot noodles I much prefer the Nissin Soba ones.

Must point out though, having tried a lot of Japanese and South Korean instant noodle bowls over the years (back when I was at Cap Gemini 2001-2006 I used to keep several in my drawer at work for when an incident resulted in my leaving late), a lot of them are not particularly good so don;t assume getting imported ones from the likes of Japan Centre, Starry Mart or Wing Yip mean you're going to have a good taste experience.

Some of you might enjoy this...

I'm not sure I'll be going to the trouble of creating my own like they did but the spicy chicken ghost pepper noodles look interesting apart from the packaging lacerating you biglaugh

The rest of the Heat Eaters series with Esther Choi are a decent watch too but not always noodle-based.

I wasn't impressed TBH, had a few bites and the rest went in the bin. Not for me.

Cheers I'll keep skipping glass noodles then - their Udon noodles are quite good but as I said the broth needs spicing up.

I had a cracker of a pot noodle this morning in work. Will post it up later............

Can't believe I haven't found this thread before, I'm a Shin Ramyun addict, amongst other, similar snacks. I'll have a proper read through this later on.
