Haha, it was a fair old slab of ribeye.

Cooked wrapped very low in the oven, brushed with truffle oil, finished off in a griddle and well rested

Lately I have been asking my butcher to cut steaks as one piece instead of individual cuts. When it’s just me and the OH eating it’s a nice way to dine off a sharing platter, all helped by some Rioja.

Gave the deep fryer a hammering. 42 hour sous vide beef rib with beer battered onion rings, mushrooms and triple cooked chips. In hind site the dinner was too rich but the first half of the meal was amazing, the second half a bit of a struggle hence the sriracha and sweet chilli sauce

Batter is quite dark as I added smoked paprika and chilli powder to spice it up a bit

Beef close up. Beef ribs are now by far my favourite cut and along with pig cheeks, they provide the biggest bang per buck you can buy.

Roast dinner tonight - not cooked one in a while.

Slow roast beef (wasn't paying attention so done slightly more than I was hoping), parsnip puree, roast spuds, green beans and of course a Yorkshire pudding.

I've got to go to hospital tommorow for an operation so just wanted something easy and tasty. Brisket of beef with a red wine and beef stock reduction and roast veg.

went to lidle as it is cheap my good lady says. Came back with smoked trout, smoked reindeer and Halloumi for supper.

Would have been better with soft poached eggs melting their runny gooyness all over it. Sadly smoked trout and reindeer ain't cheap at Lidl. Scam merchants frown
