Starting as we mean to go on. The pretentiously presented Caledonian Themed Decade Starter.
Beef Lorne Sausage
Haggis
English Muffins
Eggs
Beans
Portobello mushroom
And yes, Alan, that’s the very big plate. I’m now going straight back to bed to think about what just happened.

I'm not happy with the two seperate portions of beans if I'm honest.
Once I’d decided on the silly circular motif, and put the solo mushroom in the middle, I was stuck. I could have united Team Bean in the centre and slotted the mushroom into the ranks. On reflection that might have been a better idea.
Quartermaster let the side down with supplies for New Year’s Day .... no black pudding, and no small tin of beans (only I like beans in our house) no mushrooms .... it was almost a disaster.
Quartermaster - only wanted a bacon bagel for brekkie - so had to fend for myself .... .
4x sausages (chipolatas)
4x bacon
2x toast
2x poached eggs (hit the spot/perfect in my opinion)
1x large tin of beans with sausages (oh dear ..... eat the lot)
Beans were nuked several times to get the correct consistency. No sausage dam needed - as love the mix/ beans and egg yolk.

Beans mix reminds me of a product called London Grill - I haven't seen it for perhaps 40 years or so, does it still exist?
Seemingly not:https://forums.doyouremember.co.uk/threads/10572-London-Grill
Know what you’re referring to - but only thing I can find is Cross and Blackwell breakfast (looks to have been renamed)Seemingly not:https://forums.doyouremember.co.uk/threads/10572-London-Grill
Found it ... not seen it on shelves however

It’s taken me years of practice/a drawer full of pointless poaching gadgets (which I don’t use now) to get to the point where I can now make decent poached eggs with a pan of water and vinegar only .... . But yes a healthier option than fried eggstedmus said:
Grilled spam on a brekky is
A few places round here (Wirral) do breakfasts with Ulster Fry on them, kind of similar to spam but finer in texture. Bloody lovely but difficult to find.
"Vegetable roll"? Beef with some random strands of leek in it? Bloody hard to find even when you live here...A few places round here (Wirral) do breakfasts with Ulster Fry on them, kind of similar to spam but finer in texture. Bloody lovely but difficult to find.

I like fried eggs and poached eggs but have to admit I use an egg poacher (which is really coddled eggs). I've done them in a pan of water but the white usually drifts away. I understand the key to doing them in water is very fresh eggs but what's your trick? Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
