Went in to a Korean supermarket in Guildford yesterday called Oseyo. Got overwhelmed by the wide range of noodles and didn’t buy any.

As we've been doing bowls as well as pots, side question, if it is a decent noodle (i.e. with paste and oil, not powder) how do you decant to the bowl? I pour the water in to the bowl to dissolve the paste and oil then let the noodles slide in at the end.
Today's lunch:

Looks like Starrymart still have this one in but are out of stock of the other 4 types. Still trying to work out if they are limited edition or if the 30th anniversary is just used as a label for the Nissan luxury line (there is a big difference).

Random visit to TK Maxx. They currently have a selection of noodle soup things. There's this one, a sweet and sour, and a mushroom one

They are good and hot I've got a few left. Traditionally they're used as a base to cook other stuff in. Keep the hot pot bubbling away and sort of make several courses one by one as a 'sharing' meal. Like this..............



They do hot pot pans that have two sections for different bases at the same time..........

I spotted these at Sing-Kee in Leeds today, I've only noticed them online at inflated prices previously...



A bit of a lazy tea...



Maybe I've built up my tolerance a bit since the 2x ones but they didn't feel quite as synthetically hot due to unpleasant extract. They still made my eyes water and my nose run but you're buying them.for that rather than the complex layers of flavour biglaugh

What noodles would you guys recommend the same sort of heat as birds eye chillies?

Everyone handles heat differently. I'd say just try whatever you can get from the supermarket as a starting point. such as these.
These are pretty much available at all the big supermarkets, online specialists, and definately at asian/oriental food shops. Try them. If you want something hotter then get the samyang ramen which is mentioned many times here.

Alternatively.....if you like birds eye chillies that much.. just heat some up in some oil and add it to whatever ramen you like to eat. has to be cooked in oil, as throwing chillies into a saucepan of hot water just wont work..

Never used these guys before but their 'BOGOF' deal on these (one of my real favourite non hot noodles) seemed tw good to miss so grabbed 20 ......obviously a few other things fell into my basket hehe

Got carried away yesterday in one of the two local Oriental supermarkets (neither large). I've left out the two packs of sembei crackers. Think I might have a topokki/tteokbokki problem ....

Please report back! I love tteokbokki but haven't found a decent one in a pot yet.

Actually on that subject, I cook a bit and want to make tteokbokki but I've never yet been able to find the Korean flat fishcakes. Anyone got a source for these?
