Not the bottle mentioned but lunches are all I have left..

ETA: But yes, lunch seems to be starting at about 11:30am and finishing at about 10pm, normally consisting of bread, cured meats, cheese and wine with the odd G&T thrown in. Got to love this working from home crap.

Haven’t checked this thread for ages. My ears were burning. God damn I wasn’t planning on going shopping this weekend... maybe I’ll pop down after work tomorrow. I probably need cat food anyway.

Grabbed one of these Côte de Boeuf steaks from Lidl last night, nice thick cut 500g which should satisfy my steak craving!

I’ve got myself a box of Violet Creams smile Thanks for the heads up Condor smile

Also picked up three items from the Kluck range. The two boxes and some of the burgers. I’d already out the frozen Flamin Hot ones in before seeing the fresh ones. Forgot to put the frozen back so may do a taste comparison.

I don’t mind a bit of octopus catalpa a while on holiday but I not sure about that! Does it need warming up before you eat it?

I just had a rather disappointing steak from Lidl.

Previously, the 'Deluxe' dry aged rib eye could be relied upon.

The most recent batch, not so much. If that was 30-day dry aged, I'm Spartacus.

I am dog sitting my parents' dogs this week so got to visit an Aldi for a change (the nearest ones to my own house are approx 30mins drive away).

I bought, amongst other things, one of their 'Big Daddy Steaks' and a dirty fries kit.*

The steak was sizeable but tough as old boots (T as OB!) but the dirty fries were gloriously dirty.

  • - kit contents - some random dry spice mix, some red 'nacho sauce' and some 'nacho sprinkles' (cheesy smelling crumbs) - add to oven chips with some sliced cheese.

I’m living on the vegetable curry pouches at the moment. They go really well with salmon/ haddock and I’m completely addicted

Big Daddy steaks are best done using the reverse sear method. Haven't had a bad one yet in years.
