Surprised by comments - had aldi fillet and a rib eye this week, both very very good (with a M+S peppercorn sauce...)

After years of kelloggs bran flakes, occasionally trying other/supermarket brands finally found the aldi are as near as damn it the same. Slightly sweeter and abit more "rough" but at £3.00 v 69p for 750gram i can live with it! lick

A bit random, but they had some German potato dumplings in Lidl a few weeks ago that were great fried up in butter.

If the Lidl 'Deluxe' 30 day dry-aged rib eye was in fact 30 day dry-aged, I'm Spartacus.
But isn't everyone Spartacus?

Had a lidl when it's gone it's gone 21 day matured bone in ribeye the other night. Was really good, not on par with the 18ounce version I had in the usa but for a supermarket steak I enjoyed it.

They really know how to do steaks in the USA. Mrs. Guitar and I have struggled for years to find anything like an American fillet mignon in the UK and failed. She's back in New York now and has turned vegetarian, and I am stuck in the UK due to the current circumstances, so that's solved that one...

Had these today - couldn't fault them.
Lidl 2-pack 36 Day Dry Aged sirloin jobbies.

Also had this (Lidl). Struggled up against the steak, but was an absolute delight drunk on its own after the meal.

Big recall on some of the roosters products. Worth being aware of as I’ve seen them mentioned a few times on here

I'm surprised there's enough actual chicken in those Poppers to poison someone.

Salmonella chicken is sold in supermarkets as well as camphor bacteria, so surprised they are doing a recall.

You're probably better off contacting a farmer direct.

Ask around in a local Facebook group for local farms who sell them and then contact the farmer ASAP, to block book what you need.

Tried that, quoted £5 each. Not paying £250 for 50 pumpkins plus £30 delivery.

I'd be more concerned about the £10,000 fine hehe

Looks like Lidl wants £1.99 for the largest ones. You'd probably have to speak to the manager in advance, as they might only get one pallet per store.

Go on then. I'll ask.
What do you need that many pumpkins for?

Pumpkin Trail.

Popped into Aldi, £1 each for big, 1.99 for extra large. Around 40 pumpkins for £60 - very pleased with that. They ran out so will go again soon!

That does look decent.
