Not food, from the Middle Aisle of Dreams today I bought a nice pair of chinos for £4.99. God, I'm getting old.....
They are beige, I trust?
German casual trousers. I'm going for salmon or plum.

I think the correct term is 'slacks'. Preferably in fawn.

Get you and your military chic!

Chinos are pure Family Guy - the dress code of American dads and Secret Service wannabes.

Ze Germans are jeans wearers (und Lederhosen, obvs)

I would call it a 'clay' sort of colour, although the official colour is 'sand'.

It has been suggested that you shouldn't buy your clothes in the same place as your milk and bog rolls, but I'm sure we can all agree that those extremely smart trousers show that for the nonsense it is.

Well done that man. Sexy AND sensible.

There are some interesting French whites in Lidl at the moment. In fact, Lidl is my go-to for the regions which are otherwise difficult to find.

All good are:

Pinot blanc - £6.99
Jurançon - £7.99
Savoie blanc - £7.99
Clairette de die - £7.99 this is a star. It's aromatic and refreshing, made from Muscat grapes

This piques my interest!

One of my absolute favourite wines .... [Clarkson-on] in the world [/Clarkson-off] ... is the Muscat from Alsace. But it's made in such tiny quantities, that it's rarely seen in the UK. I shall be hunting this one^ down tomorrow morning!

Definitely worth a try for something 'different'. I'm a fan of aromatic sweet whites with a bit of 'tang'.

Oh - is it sweet? The muscat d'Alsace is fruity but dry.

That did make me smile. As much as a man who ate rat st can smile, anyway.

The £9.99 Gigondas in the Christmas range has my name on it. Will grab one in the next week or two.

This - from the main range - was the bottle of choice today though.

I recall the Toro Locos being amazing 2-3 years ago, and then becoming increasingly disappointing. So I'm hoping this 2016-badged one will be lick

Well, it's a 'no' for the Toro Loco Reserva. Certainly not undrinkable, but not one I'd recommend either. Real shame; I had high hopes!

I'm uncertain how to proceed. I think that makes the food unfit for human consumption, which is extremely serious. I will probably forward it to the local authority if they will prosecute.

No chance of that.
