Just back from a long drinky weekend and Frau GenX fancied gyros. Gyros pita for me in the takeaway’s homemade, really fluffy and delicious, bread.

I did have to collect it to get that price...

It also meant it was ready in 10 min rather than an hour.

And for those asking where.. You also have to live near a grotty northern ex mining village.... The cheap takeaways are one of the plus sides.

price of takeaway makes me sad. just paid £12.50 for singapore chow mein and dumplings.
I'm sure pre-2020 it would've cost about £8. i would've happily had some chinese 1-2 times a week (just maybe getting a chow mein, or fried rice for £3). but now its more like once a month at the most.

more and more it makes me want to have a go at doing my own as things like cooked meat, dumplings, can be easily frozen and thawed. there's so many youtubers from the UK that'll show you how to make it the exact way the takeaway do it.
