Bought a small bottle of this yesterday (it's not a full size bottle, but is my first one bigger than a miniature):
Was on offer at Asda and paid £13.00 for it. It's quite nice and smooth. Supposed to have a lot of fruity notes that I'm trying to pick out.
35cl I assume? If so, £13 is quite a decent deal. I tried it a couple of weeks ago and thought it was quite nice, considering buying a bottle for a proper try. Getting more and more used to it as I drink more of it. It's fruity and a little nutty and is a very easy drinker. Quite pleased that I bought it now.
Main problem is that I have drunk nearly half the bottle in two days! As someone who has never really drunk alcohol in the past, it's proving to be quite a treat.

Didn't mean to find anything today but this was rid iced in Aldi, blow me it's a nice tipple for £17.50. Light oak, honey finish and vanilla.
Got through a bottle of that last year and pretty much enjoyed it, haven't seen it since. Got a bottle of the 18 year old that I haven't opened yet. Cheese Mechanic said:
Its quite often see on these pages that people open something new, and are initially blase concerning the experience, yet go back to it again in time and see it in a far more positive perspective, picking out flavours that they completely missed before.
I've had a bottle of Lagavulin 16 for a few weeks and I really wanted to like it, but just found it blunt and peaty for the sake of it, nothing else going on at all. Tried with water, ice and by itself and still nothing really going on compared to Bowmores I've tried. Tried again with water last night and realised how subtle it is under all that peat, a delicate fruitiness that I'd not noticed before. Very much enjoyed every sniff and sip of it.
Just goes to show.
Carrying on with my delving into ash-tray land, I used my Xmas vouchers today for a Bunnahabhain 12 and I thought I'd try Waitrose's own label 12 year old Islay as I'd read a decent enough review of it. Anybody tried it?
Had a 23 year old Bunnahabhain from Whisky Broker last year and that was pretty good, the 12 today from Waitrose was the same price.
Bought a bottle of Jura Superstition yesterday. It's the first time I've tried it and I'm very impressed.
Slightly peaty (which to be fair it says on the bottle and they're not wrong) and very 'drinkable' actually. I'm by no means that knowledgeable on single malts but it's one I'll certainly be buying again.

A few hours have passed and still no report. It must have been a good session.
It was a very good session! Nice tour with an ex manager. We tasted some casks in one of the dunnage warehouses then had a tutored tasting. The crafty buggers got us pissed then shepherded us into the shop. I bought a 39yo 1971 single cask bottle, not opened it yet though - "aff it" today!
Not sure if this has been covered but new Ardbeg out soon https://twitter.com/ardbeg_com/status/449626299267...

Had a glass of the Waitrose 12 year old Islay last night and have to say it's very nice indeed, not too peaty, smooth and plenty going on under your nose. Went down very well and pretty good for £30.
