The Lidl block wursts are better than the Aldi ones. There was a discussion on this thread a few month ago about this.I rarely get any as it’s only me in our house that’ll eat them.

Thanks I didn’t know that. I’ve never had Currywurst it was something I wanted to try when I went to the Nurburgring years ago and didn’t get round to it, I saw something online yesterday and got it in my head that I wanted it for lunch one day this week. Moving away from the food/ drink offerings for the moment, I have to say I'm going to be giving Aldi a swerve for the foreseeable for a few reasons:
- it doesn't seem as good value as it used to be.
- there have been a consistent number of gaps in the ranges of goods that I've been going in for (which exacerbates the above point as I then have to buy the missing stuff from more expensive places).
- in the current Covid climate it's the only place where I've recently felt quite uncomfortable with their set-up and procedures, notably lack of cleaning of trolleys, lack of control over numbers of customers and too many staff stocking shelves and blocking aisles with crates of empty boxes causing bottlenecks.
I will of course keep monitoring this thread just in case any tempting offers appear in the meantime.

my store has a stand outside by the trolleys and another just insuide the doors by the baskets, screens round all the checkouts and plastic dividers between them.
May not be feasible but go after 8pm, stores are empty and i see pallets of stock as a plus as you can raid them for the fresh produce.
I did my weekly run to Aldi Ashbourne this morning. Lots of everything, including the post Christmas clear out stuff for pennies. Car park and store very quiet, sanitiser station on the way in and a full time sanitiser operative with a mega cleaning trolley working her way around the store, I've seen this on every visit. This is a really good Aldi though, the one in my home town is almost the polar opposite and I won't shop there and the whole set up would be a concern due to various demographics for those worried about covid.
And all Aldi stores now have red/green traffic lights to control customer flow too. I think Aldi is probably at the higher end of Covid control amongst the supermarkets.

which is fine by me too though. If you're that squeamish or vulnerable, you should probably get someone else to shop for you or have it delivered.
