Was down in darkest Dorset last weekend camping (campfire, and cider watching the sun going down). We'd picked up a few litres of Dorset Nectar. Loverly stuff!

Just went into Aldi and bought 2 of there 2 litre bottles of Taurus for £4. Will report back tomorrow as to my findings.
Nice and cold. Hold your nose, straight down, enormous belch. Raging rosacea, an hours solid madness, sleep like a baby.No hangover. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Got to drop my boss at the airport in a bit. Will tuck into a few glasses later!
If that's a euphemism, I suspect the cider will help with that.I'm not ashamed to really like it. I think I go through an annual cider-patch around this time of year. It must be the weather.
Like bread and ketchup, cider is one of those foods/drinks where I like all of it, from the very cheapest and most awful to the most expensive and posh.

Seeing as this is Pistonheads, here's my MX5 full of cider from the Thatcher's cider farm:
may i be so bold to ask what that little lot set you back, and was it cheaper getting it from source?Looks pretty good regardless!!
The plastic jerrycans are ~£8 (cheaper if you keep, clean and return to refill them) which gets you 5 litres or around 8-9 pints of cider - they have three massive barrels there of either dry, medium or sweet. You can also buy smaller flagons or 30l barrels, etc.
The 2l bottles of fizzy Thatchers Gold are now getting rare. You used to be able to buy them everywhere for about £3, but apparently Thatchers are stopping producing them due to image issues and they dont want the association of underage drinking that 'other available brands' carry. They are now £3.70 each or 6x crate is £18.
The variety box of bottled ciders was £10.50.
EDIT: I found a picture of the shop, complete with prices!

Just polished off a pint of Taurus myself.

I'm really enjoying it. Currently having a glass whilst cooking dinner. Tastes even better knowing that a full glass is costing me pence. Good recommendation sir! Cheers.I'm not ashamed to really like it. I think I go through an annual cider-patch around this time of year. It must be the weather.

so how much do the aldi ones cost? and are they fizzy?
not too keen on the majority of fizzy ciders, but westons vintage in a bottle is alright.
Don't get your hopes up. It's basically a drier, nicer White Lightning!not too keen on the majority of fizzy ciders, but westons vintage in a bottle is alright.
£2 for 2l.
Ive gone for the cans over the bottles find the bottles go flat although its not that fizzy in the first place.
For the price of it its not bad at all.

Went to the shop last night and a new cider ( well ive not heard about / seen it before ) caught my eye.
Bagged myself a few bottles - Carling Cider its pretty nice n not to fizzy. Would be great on a hot day.
Hmm, major industrial lager co jump on bandwagon with industrial cider. Don't get me wrong, mass produced cider is ok to drink, but just not for me thanks.Bagged myself a few bottles - Carling Cider its pretty nice n not to fizzy. Would be great on a hot day.
I had a surprisingly nice bottle of Henney's at the weekend (from some supermarket or other). Light, although 6% alcohol, tasted of apples, a bit fizzy and with a hint of the farmyard, just how I like it.

I had a very nice bottle of Aspall's Draught the other day at the Swan in Heddon On The Wall. Perfect after dinner cider, bright and refreshing and not too dry. I also liked the bottle. Cider is definitely better for embracing it's roots as a classic English drink rather than playing to kids who drink in bus stops and parks.
Strongbow? Stella 'Cidre'? Like fk I would...
