A German Donner Kebab from a local place that has reopened and restyled itself as a German Donner / dessert place.
Meat tasted the same as usual, the pitta bread was exchanged for a sort of toast thing.
Still, very nice.
Seems to be the latest bandwagon around kebab in the U.K. and most places just change the bread. In reality a German doner is made from beef and veal so all the U.K. places selling the usual lamb stuff is just trying to be “fashionable” Meat tasted the same as usual, the pitta bread was exchanged for a sort of toast thing.
Still, very nice.

German Doner Kebab chain does a beef doner kebab.
This place did the usual donner, chicken, shish etc, Small kebabs are served with pitta bread, salad & sauce, large with German bread, salad & sauce & king served with naan bread, salad & sauce or garlic sauceIt's a better quality doner - less fatty, less salty and less processed. Unfortunately, this means it's not as enjoyable (for me) as the standard doner.
I do get them though, because I love doner kebab with all the trimmings but I hate myself afterwards, so this is a compromise.

I tried one during the EOTHO, usually £8 for the meal deal from memory, it was nice, but not worth it at full price. I preferred the Turkish place near where I used to work in Teddington, which was cheaper even when ordering Lamb Shish rather than the donner.Haven't posted in Vol 4 as hadn't had anything either dirty or takeaway for months, but over in Mexico in the moment so that will change. Not Mexican, but I did notice the Carl's Jr near the hotel I was staying at a few days ago do some epic looking burgers. The menu looks almost the same as in the US, but even spending 3 years traveling over for work trips every month (up to 4 years ago), I never visited a Carl's Jr. That will have to change either here or when I get over to the US later in the month.

The German Doner chain in the UK is not a good example of what a decent German Doner actually is. You need to get one in Berlin from a recommended joint to really see the difference.
No doubt, was just letting people know that there is a place that sells it made from beef and not the abatoir parts bin craigjm said:

I once stood in a very long queue around a square in Bavaria for the self proclaimed “best kebab in Germany”. I was very, very drunk at the time, but I recall it being worth the wait. anonymous said:

There is indeed a seekh in there along with some "plain" chicken - fail of a (phone) camera can't really tell the difference between that and the chicken tikka.Order was
"Chicken Tikka, Chicken Donner, Lamb Doner, Seekh Kebab, Wedges, Chips, Salad, Sauce And Bottle Of Pepsi"
Can't really complain for £12 all in.
