The battle of the Christmas biscuits!

No Christmas biscuits from Lidl in the competition for some reason - is that a miss from the daily mirror?

Aldi, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, m&s but no lidl or Asda

Anybody seen the big bags of these recently?

They were better than Frazzels... I think you can get the small bags in the variety mix bags - but not seen the big bags for while.
They've been missing in action for a couple of months in my local branch. The big bags of cheese puffs are hard to come by too.

All of these from the same factory I would guess.

Forgot to mention this: it's been in the jumble of the short-term lines in Lidl for a couple of weeks or so.

Maggi, to Germans, is as Heinz is to ze Tommies.

Careful you don't pick up Maggi Tomato Sauce, which looks almost identical, as it's a very mediocre ketchup. But this stuff is ace. Proper hot but sweet chilli kick to it. Lovely with chips and sossidges, fish etc.

I was lucky in Lidl to spot the Normandy cider and one single bottle of PX, both cheap, both tasty.

The chilli bratwurst in LIDL are really good.

I find they are best cooked on a low heat.

Are they the Chilli ones? If yes I should be technically dead from food poisoning.

Not sure how much you cook bratwurst for as they seem to burn easily on grill pan.

Pretty sure they were the chilli ones but I have to buy the plain ones as well and I'm the only one in the house who likes them!!

The brats are fully cooked when you buy them. All you need to do is get them up to temp and make them look edible.

I cut them in half lengthwise, score the flat face in a crosshatch pattern and stick them under the grill for delicious burny-bits.

Air fryer would work for this pretty well I'd think?

Yup, or slice them fairly thinly on the diagonal and throw them in a stir-fry.

Food inflation is now kicking in. A lot of the stuff I buy at aldi is now noticabley up by 10pc or more.

Don't get me wrong, doesn't mean I won't buy what I want to buy, but must be grim for those who can't cut anything out.

Been noticing that for months everywhere. I run a store and I'm constantly changing prices upwards currently. Except cigarettes... we now have 2 brands dropped to £9 and a tobacco dropped from 13.90 to £10.

It doesn't stop me either, I just moan and buy it anyway. Iv been stocking up on reduced stuff at the cash n carry anyway. Got 12 lamb chops for £4 yesterday, 2 big pork tenderloin for 1.60 odd each, a
Full turkey crown (both breasts no legs) for £4 and some beef stuff for steak pies for less than a fiver aswel. All because Scotland have these stupid restrictions on so places are quiet and its leaving stuff to get reduced. Mmmm that should offset some price rises for a bit. I permanently can get pork reduced to peanuts because its a predominantly Muslim cash and carry. More bargains for me!

Anyway back to aldi. I got a power rack online so waiting for that to be delivered and I'll update on its qaulity. (Yes not food but it is aldi...)

Popped into the local Lidl an hour ago, and they were selling some decent wines off at £3.99 - Bordeaux and their 10 year old Tawny Port.
