Reminds me of the Hammerhead!
The DYC was a real find, based on what I have read, considering their whisky had a reputation for just being acceptable with ice and Coke!! It's obviously younger and nowhere near as malty as Hammerhead, but just as easy to drink. From what I read the DYC 10yr old was a limit run, and I had hoped to stumble upon another bottle before Xmas when I was back in Barcelona, sadly haven't seen it again.

Interesting stuff. Never heard of it before. Amazing how all these whiskers are appearing around the world...
I'd never heard of it before I saw it on the shelf in the supermarket near the hotel. I did have a look, put it back on the shelf, then decided what the hell..and had a pretty similar experience when I picked up a bottle of Armorik in Calais during the summer. It's not just the fact that these are appearing, the quality of many of them is also amazing - the likes of Mackmyra, Amrut, Kavalan, etc. are all highly rated, nevermind Kavalan being awarded the title for best single malt recently.

In other news, added a bottle of Bookers at 68% (I think) to the collection. £25!!

Infuriatingly, we were going to be there in Islay for Ardbeg Day and Feis Ile but Cally fking Mac don't run on Sundays so we can't get home when we need to!!
That's why we're staying for the following week also.. Ardbeg day should be a good one.
Has anyone any experience of this from M&S?

I must admit to a likening to the Irish pot still whiskies I've experienced so far , albeit in a pricier bracket than this.
Anyone?
Also tempted to try a bottle of this: https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-2908.aspx
I've tried Powers John's Lane 12 and Yellow spot so far, and was impressed with them both, especially the former. Keep mulling over whether to delve into other Pot still whiskies, anyone tried Redbreast?

Ardmore Legacy Single Malt - down from £30/bottle to £20/bottle at Tesco
Easy drinking lightly peated bargain.
Just been to Ardmore today and had a very nice couple of hours ++ touring and tasting with the retired distillery manager - highly recommended.Ardmore Legacy Single Malt - down from £30/bottle to £20/bottle at Tesco
Easy drinking lightly peated bargain.
Legacy is 80% peated / 20% unpeated - then sadly brought down to 40%. Having drammed this after the older 10yo fully peated 46% it's sadly a very poor relation. The comparative lack of oils just allow it to fall off the tongue rather than linger, plus the better flavours are very diminished. That said - at £20 is good value.
Also better for me was a Teachers Quarter Cask - and a 12yo centenary Ardmore. Need to google availability and price but expected to be rare to find.
All I bought today though was a 14yo GlenGarioch sherry butt at cask strength - having also had the new 15yo and a couple of 15yo single cask bourbon bottlings at that distillery.

30 May - Ardbeg Day, 200th anniversary of both Ardbeg (and Laphroaig), although how you get hold of some is being withheld for now. I'd anticipate committee release first, and i'd be surprised if you can secure some via the Internet before it all goes. Infuriatingly, we were going to be there in Islay for Ardbeg Day and Feis Ile but Cally fking Mac don't run on Sundays so we can't get home when we need to!!
CalMac do run on a Sunday, or do you mean that you did not plan ahead enough so when you tried to book a ticket all the ferries were already fully booked?ClubSmed said:
