I scored a curry wurst at Lidl today for my lunch. Not bad at all for a microwaveable meal and a darn sight cheaper than Hermann ze German.
Keep trying to spot those in my local store. Are they among the other regular chilled stuff, eg Kielbasa, Bockwurst, Frankfurters, Frikadeller etc? Or do they arrive in a specials week? Thought they'd be in the Alpen week, just had that, no such luck.

I’m afraid I’m not a LIDL habitue, as casual parking in Inner London is now largely a thing of the past, and my nearest branches in Kentish Town and Camden are not particularly convenient or well stocked, so I don’t know what the availability is like. When I bought the pack, I was out and about and knew I wouldn’t have time to cook when I got home so simply grabbed a microwave meal on a whim.

FWIW, I took a note in case I was passing a LIDL. It had the Alpenfest label on it. The barcode number was 2008 2413 if that’s any help.

No, they're only available during Alpenfest week promotion. 3-4 times a year.

Thanks. Have to be a bit sharper out of the blocks next Alpenfest.

Managed to grab a butter chicken king kebab biggrin will try it later. Also grabbed a pack of the frozen pizza subs whilst I was in the frozen and they’re absolutely great for a snack smile

Brill. You could post that here, the breakfast thread and the Council thread; proper VFM.

i recently bought some of the frozen patatas bravas from Lidls spanish week. Pretty much just deep fry them and then cover in a bit of hot sauce.

They make an excellent snack to go with a beer.

Ummm on the subject of frozen Pizza though - I'm a great fan of the American Hot, however I noticed the price has risen and the toppings have certainly been reduced (as per the one I bought and consumed this week)

^Despite me always looking out for this whenever i visit LIDL I have been unable to find it. ALDI however to a similar french vodka in a frosted white bottle for the same price. It's my go-to vodka now. Very smooth and easy to drink neat/do shots, no harshness to it unlike the likes of sminoff, russian standard, or zubrowka, all of which are a little harsh (even when fresh out the freezer)

I doubt their standard cheap vodka is Russian either, even if it has a Russian sounding brand on it.

Thing is though, Karen will be kicking off that they are supporting Russia if they still have it on the shelves.

The whole point of that product^, as with Aldi's longstanding and outstanding version, is to mimic the French brand Grey Goose.

Yeah I know, I don’t think it’s a new line at Lidl either.
