Lidl have a none Russian vodka in, not yet consumed to rate, but just for information.

https://www.lidl.co.uk/p/spirits/ignis-french-grai...

I doubt their standard cheap vodka is Russian either, even if it has a Russian sounding brand on it.
The whole point of that product^, as with Aldi's longstanding and outstanding version, is to mimic the French brand Grey Goose.
Have this thread to thank for the purchase of it I made earlier!

I tried this wine last night. Really liked it, was slightly sweeter than the aimone one which is also well liked. So much prefer this sweeter red wine, any one with recommendations of similar ones?
It is a little sweeter, heavy quality stuff, but I actually prefer the boggo Aldi/Lidl Primitivo which is a bit less Ribena and a few quid cheaper too.
thank you for this suggestion. I've bought both of the ALDI primovitos and it's my new favourite.

I supriingly found 2 bottles of aimone on the shelf, despite it being something not sold in-store. Grabbed it, but haven't had it as i've been enjoying these other ones.I think I've drank too much of the aimone over the past 2 years, gone off it slightly.

This has got to be worth a go on! (although I don't like mushrooms...)

Where did you take that picture. I can see Dutch writing underneath the pizza.

Lidl scotch egg, far better than the tasteless ones in Aldi. So much so the remaining post-breakfast one will be left out to warm up a bit for a pre-lunch snack.

Ah yes, the "do I cook it" or "do I not cook it" ones. I doubt they'll be back, I suspect they were a bit of a disaster for them considering the variation ISTR shown on here.

Had an Aldi curry last night: really enjoyed it!

Indian ready meals from even the priciest outlets (Waitrose and M&S) I find really grim. Don't taste great and don't sit well in the stomach. Very reluctantly picked these up and would definitely have them again.

Even though they're not part of the Specially Selected range, the samosas were really authentic, unlike the 'posh' ones which are bland and just take the skin off the inside of your mouth.

Beef Madras - sounds good. I can see its got 3 chillies on the box - did it have a good kick to it?

I find the Aldi curry jars pretty good. They even had small jars of Pataks Lime pickle down the middle aisle recently. (the best and only lime pickle worth buying IMO.)

No, I'd say the beef was a 2 and the chicken a 1. Just pleasant rather than hot.

Picked these up in Lidl this morning. Part of their Spring Wine Tour range. £9.99 and wonderful on a sunny day.

Haven't tried them yet (polite to wait until after 11am on a Sunday) but I'm happy to guarantee how wonderful they'll be, or your money back*.

I bought those same 2 currys from aldi. looking forward to try them out. Last night i had their chicken jalfrezi. Was pretty nice (then again i was drunk) and did seem different to the regular takeaaway ready meals you see in other supermarkets. Was suprised that it had a decent level of heat to it too.

What's this 11 am nonsense? The clock change makes 10 o'clock entirely acceptable.

The boggo standard chicken jalfrezi is well worth the money too, surprising amount of meat and heat smile

Just to be clear, are we still talking budget supermarkets or are we on to bars and nightclubs?

I do love a Cremant. I fully realise that this isn't Aldi or Lidl, but if you like your sparkling, Majestics Guv'nor Sparkling is tremendous.

Croissant buns back in stock at ALDI. ALDI are also selling guiness-flavoured crisps (saw them afew years ago in LIDL). Didn't see either of these things listed as new items in their weekly online leaflets.
