i've always felt that a good home cooked curry should be better than a takeaway! Otherwise it's a bit like saying this burger I made; it's as good as McDonalds!Chicken Dhansak from the BBC site, tasted just like my local takeaway

I think the dogs look pretty good! Where do you get the beer from? Until recently I could only get it in B&M, but even they've stopped doing it now. Short of ordering a crate direct, is there anywhere else I can get it?
My local Scotmid had it on offer 8 for £8 and my local Tesco also stock it don't know if it's only Scotland. Didn't know B&M sold alcohol. generationx said:

Game changer with making curries for me lately is asafoetida powder, add a good pinch near the end of cooking, just adds a kind of savoury roundness to them, strong though so make sure its stored securely!

I'm in the Midlands, so I'm out of luck I guess. A few Tesco stores down this way used to stock it, but not for a while. Thanks though .B&M sell a few decent beers from time to time e.g. Oakham Citra for £1.49 for a 500ml bottle round my way. The Innis & Gunn lager was briefly replaced with one of their ales in my local store, but that seems to have gone as well now.

Mrs SC regularly cooks a batch of lasagne for the freezer (we prefer the flavour and texture when it's been through a cycle in the freezer). Lovely with Brussels sprouts.

the heat content was just about right.
Interestingly with that amount of garlic I could still taste that through all the hot stuff. So if you say to someone you are going to make it spicy and they say "not too much" then just tell them you will throw in a st load of garlic to counter balance it.,
Note to all the hot ladies on the FDR thread, no kissing from me tonight. You will have to go to bed disappointed.
