Little update.

My set up Morphy Richards Accents 48701, with a WEMO wifi plug

Came out ok, little watery but tasty enough to go back for seconds, work in progress.

You need no-where near as much liquid as you think you do I've found.

Try pork belly slices in Korean BBQ paste, let down with a bit of soy sauce.

Cook overnight in the slow cooker on low, shred and serve with jasmine rice plus sesame seeds and a few sliced spring onions over.

There's a 3.5 litre slow cooker on offer in Tesco at the moment for £18.

I'll probably replace my £12 Asda cheapie as after eight years of being used at least once a week, it's finally borked and is cooking at too high a temperature.

Yep, they say if you are adapting a normal recipe to be cooked in a slow cooker, uses a third less liquid and don't worry about going too overboard on seasoning and or herbs.

If too much liquid I just strain the solids out & reduce the liquid in a wide bottom pan boiling for between 10 & 20 minutes or so & check the seasoning before combing with everything else.

The only liquid added was a can of chopped tomatoes. Maybe strain them and add back half the juice.

Just bought a WiFi plug socket for mine, sometimes there is no one in the house from 7:30 till 18:30, so rather than over cooking or not using the slow cooker due to no one being around to put it on, I can get everything ready and just put it on when at work.

Based on this post I have just obtained a TP-Link WiFi plug for this express purpose.

Remote Control Cooking. Now I need an IP Camera so I can check on it's progress from my phone....

I use mine to cook a whole chicken, just rested on a bed of carrots and potatoes and a small amount of stock. The skin doesnt crisp but the meat is really moist, tastes great and just falls apart

Just cooked a 2kg piece of Topside in the Le Crusset ...3 hours at 150F.

Was cooked in a large glass of white wine, some herbs de provence and some english mustard, then after the meat had been sliced some cornstarch to thicken. Meat fell apart and is lovely and soft. One of my fave ways to roast a large hunk of cow.

Topside is wonderful when slow cooked. lick
