Jet Black Heart is gorgeous, and even nicer from draught
Brewdog as a business rubs a lot of folk up the wrong way, but some of their stuff is a real class act - JBH being one example.

Yes they're becoming a kind of Starbucks of the craft beer world, got a bar in most UK cities and slowly spreading across the world. That being said, I do like their bars and to be fair, usually have quite a few local beers on tap, in addition to their own. I'd love it if we got a bar in Sydney as well.
I'm a big fan of Jack Hammer, probably my favourite Brewdog beer.
I tend to go through phases, in terms of my favourite style of beer. I'm becoming a bit bored of IPA's lately, so many good ones out there. Yes I know, first world problems hey. Lambics are were I'm, at the moment. if you like this style, then I'd recommend trying something from either Cantillon or 3 Fonteinen. I was lucky enough to have an eleven year old bottle of Cantillon Iris recently and it was amazing, so complex, yet easy to drink. It would cost a fortune if I were to find one locally.
Noticed that M&S had some Mikkeller beers over the weekend so I picked up a couple of the light ones. Can't remember the names but there was an IPA, a pale ale and a pilsner.
Used to be a big fan of Mikkeller but these were just ok, maybe scaling up to the point that they can supply supermarkets has blunted they're uniqueness a little.

Hipster's Piffle is my fave.
Also re. the post above again - good luck getting any Cantillon or 3F unless you drive over there... I've had the regular 3F, Cuvee St Gilloise and Lamvinus when Beers of Europe had them a few years back (4-5) but unfortunately didn't manage to get any again before it all became unobtainium. They are very good but sought after that much?
I love sours but I kind of got a bit tired with and didn't care for how things have gone in recent years, IPAs etc. it's great it is all more widespread but pushing the edges of styles gets a bit silly I think - I regressed back to to-style stuff and buy a lot of German beers, really like how the best stuff tastes of tradition, I like a kellerbier. St. Georgen is a great one if you can find it, as good as any English bitter imho.
Got a road trip of sorts to Austria and back in July, 1 full day in Bamberg so will definitely be going to Schlenkerla, probably my favourite brewery just need to decide how many of the others
Usually stick to guys like Siren for 'modern' stuff, order direct every now and then as it's much cheaper than BoE etc., will demolish crates of Calypso (berliner weisse, but has to be the right hop mix, they change it a lot)
Too many to choose from so narrowed down to style and still too difficult.
Stout = Goose Island Bourbon County
IPA = Magic Rock Neo Human Cannonball
Sour = Lost Abbey Framboise de Amarosa
Barley Wine = Alemsmith Old Numbskull
American Strong = Lost Abbey Agave Maria
ABT/Quad = Pannepot Reserva
The problem with all of the above is the calories - 400 plus in most of those.

Good timing for a thread resurrection, I'm going to the Farnham beer festival at the weekend
However all my favourites tend to be Belgian and Dutch (Gulden Draak, Kasteel Donker, Henri Willig Tripel, Piraat, Stormbok,...), so rather looking forward to the Dutch Beer Festival in the Hague next month
The only trouble is all the beers I really like tend to be 8-10% range so I can't drink that many of them

I was enjoying some rather excellent Bluebird XB at the Black Bull in Coniston at the weekend. Fabulous beer, I’m sure the sunshine also helped.
Being from the SW originally, I used to like the Sharps stuff but it’s gone right off to point of being crap and best avoided. St Austell or Skinners are far better brewers.

Stout: Orkney Dragonhead
IPA: Brooklyn EIPA maybe?
Belgian blond/pale; Pater Leiven
Pale ale; Thornbridge Kipling
Dunkel; Ayinger
Sour: Cuvee des Jacobins/Siren Calypso
Wheat: Schneider Tap 6 Aventinus
Barleywine: JW Lees
Edit: took out the three I put Schlenkerla for, favourite of anything so deserves its own category
Rauchbier (smoked): Schlenkerla Helles/Marzen/Krausen/Fastenbier

If any of you guys like IPA or bee and are in London, I highly recommend you check out Mother Kelley's in Bethnal green or Vauxhall.
Amazing and crazy choices of beers on tap that changes daily.
I worked, until very recently, at London Bridge and before I resigned I went over to Bermondsey to see all the little breweries in the railway arches. Ended up at Cloudwater; that whole area would make an epic pub crawl. Amazing and crazy choices of beers on tap that changes daily.
