Can't access the link at work, anyone care to give me a quick rundown/recipe of what a 'bacon explosion' is all about? I'm intrigued, and the name sounds right up my street....lick

Yeah, I made one. It was nice enough, but could have been a lot better. I'll make another one at some point, but I'll make sure to get better, thicker bacon. Regular streaky from a packet is too thin. Also, I think I needed to pack the inside with even more bacon than I did (21 rashers went into it!) so that it rolled up thicker so that the cross section would have a single circle of sausage meat...mine turned out more like a bacon/sausage swiss roll.

aye, packet of streaky isnt enough for it, I got two packs and that wasnt really enough.

I think 3 might do tongue out

basically, its woven bacon with BBQ sauce/rub on top of that, with sausage meat ontop of that with bbq sauce ontop of that, then you roll the sausage meat up, then roll it the other way so the roll of sausage roll's up inside the woven bacon. cook then cover with more BBQ sauce, then wack back into the oven for an extra 10-20 mins.

all in all very good heart stopping bacon sausage thing. smile
