Anyone make sauces out of random stuff they find in their kitchen?

Just made a rather tasty condiment out of tomato puree, curry powder and some cumin and pepper. Mix together with some warm water, as much or as little as you like depending on consistency, and there you go! Students sauce made out of very little and I'm planning on having it with a steak tonight. Rare, of course biggrin

I'll try that, sounds like it could go well with a bacon roll?

I make this Devil's Sauce with just a little less sugar and little more Tabasco, as I prefer a spicy kick to a sweet one. It works brilliantly with sausages and steaks. Cook up some sausages, slice them down the middle lengthways and then add them to the pan of Devil Sauce. It's so good that I make the sauce in bulk now and freeze it.

The JD Wetherspoon Mixed Condiment challenge.

In our student days me and a mate used to make up a mix using just about every condiment available and pour (yes pour) it over our £3.99 burger and beer. We probably used about 30 sachets of various condiments between us each visit, and not a drop was left in the plate either.

My student classic was a sachet of asparagus cup-a-soup in a white sauce, lovely with pasta.
