Strong Beer Festival/Season & recommendations

Do you mean Hacker-Pschorr Animator? I don't seem to get on with Dopplebocks, or at least the ones I've tried, seem a bit one dimensional to me. Andech's was one of those although it is supposedly very good, must get round to trying the Ayinger Celebrator as they're probably my favourite German brewery.
Weizenbocks for me especially with hopefully some nicer weather coming Schneider Aventinus (8.2%)
Beers of Europe have last years vintage JW Lees Harvest Ale in at the moment (11.5% Barleywine), well worth getting some to put away.

I am currently working in Munich and live about 5 miles from Aying - Whilst the beer is good I prefer the local (for me) from Holzkirchen (Holzkirchener Gold - 5.5%), I am a massive fan of Andechs - The dopplebock is superb and a cheeky 8% and the on-site biergarten serves excellent knuckles to go with it ;-)Hogs back A over T, 9% and very tasty.
I'm a big fan of some of the stronger Belgian Trappist style beers too, Kwak at 8% and Chimay Blue at 9% are both lovely.
Steer clear of the really strong Brew Dog ones though, the strength is a publicity stunt, not tried their 41% Sink The Bismark but the Tactical Nuclear Penguin at 32% is horrible.

Salvator was the other main one I would recommend.
Doesn't matter though, as the weather has been crap since Sat evening, so no biergarten fun anyway (
I am astounded at how quickly it changes! - Shorts and T-shirts all weekend then snow on the car the last 2 mornings!! Back to the UK for Easter maybe a little more settled!!Doesn't matter though, as the weather has been crap since Sat evening, so no biergarten fun anyway (
