Maybe once a month, thought it'd be nice to greet the workers with a bacon butty. This would be at about 7am and in an industrial unit with just a microwave.

I can either get a George Foreman machine and cook some on the day (while also trying to get their work organised), could cook it the night before and warm it in the microwave (with a house smelling like bacon), or could just microwave it from scratch (apparently).

Feeding maybe 10 blokes with healthy appetites as quickly and drama free as poss.

Any suggestions for a suitable method?

Not sure I'd want a bacon butty where the bacon had actually been cooked in the microwave. I have heard it can be done but surely it wouldn't be very good.
A George Forman type grill would work much better or the suggestion of ordering in from a local cafe. People might then want to order all sorts of extras adding to the cost and making it more hassle.

cook it at home and just reheat next day in microwave they won't know the difference, a lot of cafes do the same.

Greggs butties are weird, they just taste different, not sure if it's the bread or the bacon. Still partake though -)

Yesterday myself and daughter were on an early morning jaunt to visit a university, on the M something or other, I spotted we were close to a services; I needed a coffee and said services had a Greggs.

Now Greggs coffee is ok and a damn site cheaper than Costa, this Greggs did a breakfast deal of a hot drink and a variation of egg, bacon or sausage bap, mixed up.

For £2.95 I had a coffee and a bacon and sausage bap, what I was amazed with was the bacon and sausage were actually proper bacon and sausage, not some reconstituted rubbish that "looks like" bacon or sausage (Subway breakfast), it was actually 2 slices of bacon and 2 sausages (ok not the best quality) and Heinz ketchup (I watched the girl make the bap up).

Go Greggs, it's cheap and pretty decent.

Microwave is fine. My sandwich shop in the city does it.

Reheat for 45 seconds

We've got a George Foreman grill on the site I'm on at the moment, works well for bacon butties.

For what it's worth, microwaving is my bacon-cooking method of choice. It leaves moisture in the meat, which is what I prefer.

Use a lean bacon, as the fat remains chewy and too much can make eating it a chore.

My work does something similar and we get a local cafe to bring us in the bacon rolls. We order them a few days before and get a reasonable discount.

If drama free is the key then get a local cafe/butty wagon to sort it.

Surprisingly I have found that a Panini maker cooks bacon the quickest if you like it crispy.

We use one of these and a Cadac stove to feed 10 at Le Mans every morning!
(more than just bacon butties for 10!)

You can cook bacon perfectly well from scratch in the microwave. Try it, I've been doing it for years, as long as you don't overcook it, which it will quickly if you don't keep an eye on it. 5/6 rashers for 4/5 mins then check and adjust accordingly.
